According to the bible there are 8 things you have to do. The one most people know is accept Jesus as your savior. But there are others 4 contridict each other. Obviously I'm Atheist. But what do Christians think about this?

Jesus said, "I am the way , the truth and the life, no man can get into heaven, except by Me".Could you list the other 8 things we must do, and 4 that contradict each other. OVER AND OVER again in the Bible says, it is ONLY by the shedding of blood that we can be saved- it is by grace and not anything that we can do. Would like to see what those other things are.

Well, I am not quite sure which religion you are making reference to because the Bible does not have 8 things one must do. The answer to your question, however, is no. No one can make it to heaven. We have all screwed up, no one is perfect. It's like saying the requirement for total enlightenment and eternal life is to jump from Earth to the moon. I am fairly athletic so I could jump higher than quite a few of my peers, but then Shaq jumps 8 (probably even more than that) times higher than me. So he is a little closer, but he still can't make it to the moon. We would need help...that is how it is with life. Yes, that was a silly anology, but because we are flawed, Christ's sacrafice was necessary to pay our debt. We could never do it on our own. Because of Chirst, all we need to do now is to acknowledge that we are imperfect, but that Christ redeems us. We need to put Christ as center of our lives and have a right relationship. No act or deed could ever repay Christ. We have to accept His gift... and that is all we can do.

There are no contradictions in the Bible. It is just that natural man, (people who do not have the Holy Spirit living in them) cannot understand the things written in the Bible. Not everyone will get into heaven, because that would be universal salvation. Salvation is putting faith in what God did for you 2000 years ago. You and I were born into this world dead spiritually. Jesus Christ was born, died on a cross to take the punishment for our sins away from the eyes of God never again to be seen by Him. However we are not saved by the death of Christ, but by His life. He rose bodily from the grave to give us His life living in us. This is what is referred to as being born again. This is all a gift from God, because of His love and grace He did this for you and me. God is not narrow-minded, He had to provide a perfect sacrifice once and for all. Spikes did not nail Jesus to a cross, love did. Hope that helps.

Well according to Christianity, no one can go to heaven on their own.
It is only by God's grace that someone can come to heaven, and there is only one thing needed - to accept Jesus as your personal savior.

I'll say that it's NOT possible for anyone to get to Heaven. God elects those he has chosen from before the foundations of the world to Heaven. That means, by definition, that for some it will not be possible. They will be left in their sins, rejecting God as the saved would have without His intervention.
