Think of folks such as Plato, Aristotle, Lao Tzu and such.
Primitive in technology as compared to us, but in thought I think not.

Primitive is a relstive word. Compared to Descarte or Neitzche, Plato is primitive.
However, I think in the venacular they would be refered to instead as Ancient, and cave men would be refered to as Primitive. So Primitive wouldn't be condesending, it would be incorrect.
Though we may want to reconsider, I saw a thing on television about them being really touchy about the intelligence thing. :)

Why not be open-minded a little. They were relatively very primitive, in technology and in thought. Don't let you PC stand in your way of thinking. Primitive is not a 4 letter word, you know.

What with their being dead, I don't think it matters. They won't write you a nasty email if you do it.
BTW I've never seen anyone refer to Plato or Aristotle as "primitive" anyway.

think of all the accomplishments they made and scientists still make discoveries of the ancients that would compete with todays technology
just because something or someone is old, does not make it primitive

we are far more primitive then anyone from ancient times! We are so dependant on govt that most of us couldn't survive on our own!
