Im wondering if any of you out there think this is a good song for a first dance. We both love the song, but we're not sure if it will work or not.

I think if it tells the story of your heart, YES! I think "Hallelujah" being in there is very appropriate for a wedding day! I like it, shoot!
My 1st dance, some people didn't get it, but me and my husband and the people that mattered did. The song was Prince's Grammy winning "Call My Name." If you want to see the lyrics, they are here... and a video link, too. If you love your song, each time you hear it after your dance, it will make you feel so wonderful for years to come. It even helps make hard days better. Marriages need little helps like that sometimes.

We're using I Cross My Heart by George Straight (off of the movie pure country). We also debated about When I Said I Do by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman-Black. I'm not a big fan of Dierks' new song, and I don't know that I'd use it as a first dance. But thats JMO

I think the lyrics are beautiful for a first dance. But, I don't know the melody, so I don't know if you could dance to it or not. If you and your fiance love the song, and can dance to it, then go with it, Honey. Nobody's opinion matters but yours and your sweetie's! Best wishes for much happiness in your marriage!

I say it's your wedding and your day to have whatever you want. If this is a song u both agree to why not. It shouldn't matter what everyone else thinks because it's your special day.

If you are having a slide show during your ceremony then you could play it during the section where it shows the life you have with your fiance.

I love this song, however, the song is him talking to God, that's why there's that whole"halelujah" part in it, so, not sure if it would be good for a first dance.
