It's definately not an insult. So what!? you're shy and quiet. tons of people are. I am too! but if you feel that these words arent really what describe you then maybe you should do something about it. [and it is NOT sad by the way]
I have had some self esteem issues in the past and i still do. They always held me back and made me seem more shy and quiet around people i wasnt so comfortable with. But my best friend, once i told her what was wrong, gave me great advice. She told me that i should stop comparing myself to others and just let loose. Who cares what other people think?! Just go out there and be yourself! And if you are still quiet and shy then good for you! the people who dont like you for it have something seriously wrong with them.
Good luck and feel better about yourself. You're great!

Sounds like your classmates do not know you well and only answered the question because they had to. Don't take it personally....and just for the record, I did not see anything to get upset about in the feedback you got. It would be different if the question was posed to a group of close friends, you might get different answers.

being quiet is much better than being a blabber-mouth so that person likes you more than likely.
who ever thought you to be silly seems to admire something interesting about you.
all the answers seem kind and I'd take 'em all as a compliment and not as a criticism ...... maybe you will view their comments differently later this evening and see that YOUR A-OKAY

I don't think so... don't take what these other people think of you so seriously. There is nothing wrong with being quiet or silly. And... who would want to be anything but phantasmagoric?
Just be yourself. Screw 'em!
