This was my answer to a teenager who admitted she was a recent convert to the Mormon Church and was asking for help getting accepted at BYU with a 1.0 average at a 2 year college: I would suggest you re-think your conversion to the Mormon church which is a false cult. And to your less important question, without a 3.0 average at a 2 year college most 4 year colleges won't want you. Pastor Art

I was told by Yahoo that I violated their Community Standards.

Why?

Remember that Joseph Smith, in 1830, called all other churches, Apostate, basically calling them false cults, so why should they be offended when Bible believing Christians accuse Smith of starting a false cult?

Joseph Smith picked that fight when he declared that ALL other churches were an abomination in Gods sight. It is not un christlike to expose false prophets or false doctrine. Christ Himself spent a great deal of His time contending with the Pharisees and Saducees. Old testament law put false prophets to death on the spot. If you think being Christ like is to just let false teachers lead people to their deaths in Hell and not lift a finger to try to save them, then you are clearly wrong. When Judgement Day comes, Christ is pictured with a double edged sword and I guarantee you it will be used.

i'm going to pile on. i'm a Mormon and that i'll upload a remark. i stumble on it exciting, alluring truthfully, that the "anti's" or ex-Mormons immediately take the region that while they do a splash learn, then they are those with the trueth and that the LDS don't have it. That issues are purposefully "hidden." What i stumble on alluring is that the antis assume that they have got the trueth, unquestionly assume that if its anti, it would be authentic, each and every of the whilst claiming LDS don't have it. could or not that is that the actuality receives hiddent via the anti components? Or fabricated? Or instructed in 0.5 truths? Or adorned? Now there's a singular theory. In different words, people who declare they have uncovered secrets and techniques could be people who're deceived.

I'd like to think Yahoo is fair. I've had them remove questions and answers that called anyone names or used foul language. For example, one guy was saying that a certain religious group was stupid and some not so kind things. I reported it because he was ranting and had no real question, and it was removed.

Some of my Q's have been removed. They were good in my opinion, but someone reported them. I asked for a review, but nothing has been done.

I believe you were probably reported because you gave your opinion of the Mormon church instead of simply answering her question. She wasn't asking about what you think about the Mormon church. However, in my opinion, you shouldn't have been reported. People abuse the report system and get too picky.

I suspect there may be a little 'coordination' amongst the regular mormon bunch who conpsire to get certain points of view eliminated. After all the church teaches "no discussion", and they're merely enforcing it

Yahoo may have an employee on a anti-mormon witch hunt doing the good work for the lord by denying freedom of expression.

Go to the customer care forum and state your query to "Kate", and ask for clarification on 'guidelines'. A lot of people have been 'bumped' for no apparent reason.

Why is it okay to call one religion a cult and not another? Isn't every religion a cult at some point in their early history?

I don't think of Yahoo as pro-Mormon at all. I would suspect if you had called Baptist, Muslims, Methodist, Catholics or any other religion a cult you probably would have had the same thing happen to you.

Yahoo doesn't seem to really take much time in evaluating if in fact one is violating the Community Standards agreement.

I have received many of these notices. I have kindly requested information explaining how my posts have specifically violated the CS agreement. I have received "cut and paste" replies only.

Would you like it if I called whatever domination of Christianity you belong to a cult? Probably not....so obviously, someone got offended.

But I agree with you 100% on the college thing. I'm suprised the community college hasn't kicked her out yet with that GPA.

>>Remember that Joseph Smith, in 1830, called all other churches, Apostate, basically calling them false cults, so why should they be offended when Bible believing Christians accuse Smith of starting a false cult?<<

Joseph Smith asked Jesus which of all the churches was right, meaning THOSE churches there at that time.

Jesus said they were all wrong. But, he never "basically called them false cults". That's YOUR interpretation, and it's not the right one.

so, basically, your real question is, why isn't Yahoo answers anti-Mormon like I want them to be?

She or someone else thought your answer was offensive...I think it's a bit hypersensitive to turn it in to the Yahoo Police, but they have a right to do that if they want ... just as much as you have the right to tell her that the Mormon religion is a cult (and I agree with that statement).

People tend to find it offensive when you call their religion a false cult. Someone probably reported your answer for that remark.
