Dip your fingers in the water, cross yourself, go to your seat (but don't sit down yet), kneel down and pray first, then sit down, then get up with the rest of the congregation and sing, then sit down and listen to the service. Have "answers" memorized to chant with the congregation so that you don't have to be embarrassed cuz you don't know the exact words, follow everyone in a line to the front for communion, then back to your seat (I'm not sure if you have to kneel and pray first again, I only went once and that was enough).

I was Catholic until 19 and happily left. The Catholic church is a quandry, because while it professes to be "Christian," it is loaded with Greek mythology, mysticism, and Judaic law. Nothing CLOSE to what Christ himself preached.
It is based on litergy, ritual, tradition, and a lot of mysticism. Essentially, a very guilt ridden, fear based dogma.
I am uncertain what you mean by service...But I do know an extensive amount about the Catholic Church.

The Anglican Church & Catholic Church are very similar in their services with the exception that some Anglicans Bless themselves, Anglicans receive the Chalice and the Bread whereas in the Catholic Church, not many receive the Chalice. We also kneel at the Alter compared to the Catholic Church where they line up and receive standing up. I am not Catholic and I have been to their Services. Because I have not been baptized in the Catholic faith, I am not allowed to receive Communion, although that's my friend's opinion, not mine but in my Anglican Church, ALL baptized people are welcomed at the Communion Table. After all, it is the Lord's Supper.
The Virgin Mary is more central to their fatth whereas in the Anglican Church, in our creed it states "Born of the Virgin Mary" and that's the only reference.
At least that's my understanding of their faith.
Go to www.Beliefenet.com and I think you'll find your answers there too.
The Anglican Church is an offshoot of the Roman Catholic Church minus the emphasis on the Pope. We have the Archbishop.

First, we make the sign of the cross, pray to God to forgive our sins. We sing, we praise. We say the Apostle Creed.
There are two readings from the Gospel.
The priest gives a sermon. We fellowship (shake the hands of people sitting close to us). We sing more and they pass the plate as the priest prepares the Eucharist. We kneel and more prayers are said including the Our Father. We line up for communion and then kneel and pray. We sing more and then announcements are made.
We make the sign of the cross again and then the priest says "Mass has ended, go in peace." Of which we follow up with "Praise be to God."
We sing as the Priest leaves and then we leave.

Lots of Scripture readings and lots of prayers (which themselves are taken from Scripture). Here are links to the rite of the Mass most commonly celebrated in the Western world, as well as the most common readings:

It consists of mostly nonsense, something about eating someones body and then you eat a bread wafer instead. Lots of up and down and kneeling, and listening to dull sermons (I used to be an altar boy, fun!)
