The paper already has computer printed words on it, is there anyway i can stain it without the words running?

you could try using a spray bottle container with the tea spraying the paper lightly...leave it flat on a table and let dry. Do several light mistings, dry, repeat until you have the desired stain.

If the toner runs when it gets wet- it'll run with tea too. But you could try wetting tea leaves and letting them sit in areas of the paper without text. Or you can try spray-fixing the text and staining around it. If a little blurr is okay, try crinkling the paper after you fix it, before you stain it. The tea will soak into the wrinkles and may give you a nice veining effect.
Also, practice with different teas (and even coffee)- the colors vary widely. Onion skin makes a nice stain too. Have fun!

What about staining the paper before running the paper through the printer?

Iron it first. Pretty hot but not to long or your paper will go yellow.

After that you can stain it all you want but do not soak or even all the ironing in the world will not help.
