First of all, I'm very interested in health, food, and how the body works. I love dealing with people. And so I figure a dietician would be a great career option. However, I need to know some things:

I'm going into grade eleven. What courses should I take? I'm also considering psychology, so I'm taking that, and Bio and Physics. Should I take Chemistry?

How much does a dietician make?

How many years does it take to become one?

THANK YOU.

That is virtually an all science major. My high school only offered health--nothing extra on nutrition so you may have to wait til college for that.

If you school offers athletic training or sports medicine that would also be a great course to take.

The major is usually called Exercise Science or Nutrition and Dietary Sciences--so in college you'll take loads of science. Does your high school offer anything like Zoology, any Animal studies, anything like that?

Also yes chemistry is essential. You'll take multiple chemistries in college (organic chemistry is the one that usually knocks a lot of people out) so any chemistry background you can get in high school will help greatly.

How many years?
It all depends on what you want to do. Many people start in as a dietician (which automatically means doctorate) and decide they lean more towards occupational therapy (which can be done with just a masters). Go for your bachelor and see when you've decided exactly which area your interests may lean more towards. You may end up with a masters in something a little different.
