I think your question/statement is an excellent one. Fear does oppose love. Love is not what we see a lot of w/ the answers on the R&S site lately. So that must mean that the people answering in an unloving way are answering out of fear. Am I hearing you correctly? If so, I like the concept and agree with it.

That's a good question! I think to answer it properly one has to go back to the root. No one comes into this life feeling hate for another person. Hate is a developed behavior, that can be caused by the fear of what one does not understand. I believe it is fear that motivates people toward bigotry, a good example would be people views upon the gay community. Alot of people fear gays or lesbians because inside they feel they will turn into a homosexual. Being a sin or not still does not give people the right to shout cruel remarks or commit acts of violence. People hate because of the fact that they fear.

No - it means they dislike someone very much a lot.
Has nothing to do with fear. I hate eating fish. Not cuz i fear the fish, cuz i think i'll die, or because the opposite of fish is love, or the obstruction of uniting is the basis for trust because its gills are self-sacrificing, and whatever all that psycho-babble is you are talking about.
I hate eating fish cuz it tastes like crap. Some people hate other people just cuz they hate em. Big deal.

Bigotry, hatred, persecution and oppression are either symptoms of a psychological disorder or simply clinging to self-cherishment or ego.
Altruism is the most logical choice.

It has more to do with group dynamics. When we identify with a group, we tend to bond with those in the group and have enmity towards those outside the group.
This is lessened when we mix with members of other groups. It is heighten by segregation and certain ideologies and superstitions, such as religion.
