Darlington is my favorite. I have not been there, but I like it because it is so challenging! There is so much action because guys are constantly scraping the wall!

Four honorable mentions (no particular order)
Richmond
Dover
Michigan (gotta pick my home track! People think the races are boring, but they are not when you go in person! Plus, all the drivers love this track!)
Atlanta (this is only here because we lost Rockingham)

I love racing because of the excitement. No other sport can offer that much action (we even get drama under yellow!). I come from a family who is very devoted to automobiles. I have a great respect for cars and race car drivers as well. Being a fan was just natural for me, based on my background. My dad teases me all the time that I should teach Auto (instead of elementary).

In Order of Preference:

1) Martinsville - good racin' all around the track - never a dull moment with the fender rubbin' racin' that made NASCAR famous- makes the drivers DRIVE the cars
2) Bristol - unless they change the banking (they're talking about making it progressive banking next year), there will be always a good show there.
3) Talledega - take away the restrictor plates I say! The big pack racing keeps you on the edge of the seat all the time, though
4) Dover - love the high banks - just a longer version of Bristol!
5) Atlanta - great race track - 3 grooves can't be beat - best intermediate track out there!

Bonus:

Fav Inactive track: North Wilkesboro
Fav Road Course: Watkins Glen
Track They Need to Add: Long Beach Grand Prix Course (give the boys a strip map if they can't find their way)

EDITED PORTION:

What do I LOVE about a live race? Since I'm a short track fan, I love being able to see the whole track, and FEEL the cars rumbling around the track. Best places to sit is in the turns.... don't have to move your head as much to see the action.

I really enjoy the spectacle, the fireworks and special guests and the National Anthems, followed by the fly-overs - that's a special moment for me, since I'm former military.

I went to Darlington for my first race 2 weeks ago(Busch Race) had fun counting the scrapes on the doors between the race and Nextel practice, and making my wife take a picture of the wall in turn 4. I've been wanting to go there even when I lived up north and finally got a chance. Loved every minute of it.
tracks I want to go to:
Bristol- those races are always fun
Martinsville-ditto
Lowes-only an hour and half drive
Daytona
Talledega

Well used to be Bristol until they started using the COT's which kinda made the race a little boring cause there isnt as much bumping and action. But I would have to go with Martinsville. Good track and Jeff Gordon beasts there.

Talladega. I also like, Bristol, Watkins Glen, Pocono and, Daytona. I have been to races at, Martinsville, Atlanta, Rockingham, Darlington and, North Wilkesboro. Talladega, is My favorite because of all the three wide racing going on all around the track, at any given time.

Talladega!!! It used to be my least favorite. I never liked restrictor plate racing till I went last year to the October race. But, It is not my favorite because of the racing; but it was the first road trip I had taken with my Brother since 1986. Till Talladega I had only seen my Brother face to face for one day in the last ten years. So to spend an entire week with my Brother at a Race; you just can't get any better.

Oh, and seeing a live restrictor plate race gave me a new love and appreciation for Dega and Daytona. Now I love restrictor plate races.

I'd throw in Watkins Glen; Sonoma; Dover, and of course I wouldn't be a NASCAR Fan is I didn't mention Bristol.

Daytona will always be my favorite because of the history and the finishes. I also love Talledega because of the speed and controversy that always surrounds the big wreck that always takes place. I love Bristol for the short track aspect, Phoenix, and Atlanta are a tie because they always race well there, but Darlington would probably beat them its the oldest track on the circuit and as she is called the lady in black can't be tamed. So if i was going to my first race Darlington would be the one. Daytona is usually extremely expensive and hard to get tickets to.

I, sadly, have never been to a live Nascar race, but I'll tell ya my fave tracks.

1. Talladega
2. Indianapolis
3. Daytona
4. Pocono
5. Fontana

I like the longer, faster tracks, in case you couldn't tell.

Oh, in response to your other question:
I've been to a few dirt track races around my hometown, and there is such an awesome vibe at a live race. I can only imagine what it would be like at a Nascar event. Incredible. Hopefully I'd get to meet my fave driver, Bobby Labonte.
