We were made to live, not die. Death is unnatural. The Bible says that God has put time indefinite or eternity into our hearts. We just don't want to enter that state of non-existence. That is why the sentence of death placed upon Adam and Eve was sufficient. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Not everyone believes in the Bible. I'm not so much worried about the being dead part...it's the actual dying part that I'm not looking forward to particularly much.

I'm not necessarily afraid to die, but given a choice I'd prefer to live.

Most people fear what they don't know. Not to mention most of us get pretty attached to being here and the people we know.

evolution explains the fear of death. those species which were not afraid to die, died more than those who were afraid. therefore, those who had the genes for the fear of death had more offspring and they led to you.
