Because The Book of Genesis was written by Jews thousands of years ago. Civilisation did not really look into Biology until the Eighteenth/Nineteenth Century. So the Jewish Elders wrote in a body part that they knew and their followers could relate too.

Because people back then didn't know what a coccyx is. When you're writing a story to sell people a superstition, you need to use recognizable things.

in The original manuscripts the word " curve " is used instead of rib, and it likely refers to the helix curve of DNA. Which actually makes sense to me. Have a day.

The woman was taken from the side of Adam to be his equal, to be along side him. God intended for man to take the lead, He created Adam first, He created the woman to follow.
The man is the aggressor and the woman is the responder.

well when you were making up the story and writing it in the bible, there was no anatomical knowledge, therefor the write of the bible looked at a male and saw some things on his chest that looked to be in a fair number..so he said..yeah...definetely man can do without one of those looks like he has lots.
