Faith by it's very definition CANNOT be evidence. Faith is the belief in something that you cannot see, or touch or feel. It is something you feel inside. Faith, more often than not can lead to the wrong conclusion. The biggest reason I've seen for this is that people want so badly for their faith to be justified so their mind fills in the blank space in experience with faith.

Faith is something that is often quarried. Many people think that faith is completely unreliable and that it is a waste to have. Others on the other hand say that if we didn't have faith what point would there be to our lives. Faith is not always reliable but even if you don't realize it you have and use faith every day. Each morning you wake up and get out of bed with faith that you won't break your leg. Same goes for riding a bus; you are having faith that the bus driver won't have a wreck. I believe that many times faith is reliable depending on where your faith is put. I put my faith in the lord Jesus Christ and have faith that he did rise from the dead. Do realize that because I am a Christian doesn't mean that I have dry faith if you look up the facts in the Bible it has never been wrong and all of the prophecies that are supposed to be up to this time have come to pass. the odds of that actually happening are the same as the odds of a blind man finding a selected molecule in space.FYI God has never failed me and I have never been happier since I became a Christian. Also in case your are confused with a common misconception and/or hypocrites Christianity isn't a religion it is a relationship with Christ. Religion means man's attempt to bind himself to God If you have any more questions on faith or Christianity please E-mail me at c__otter_purplesmurf@hotmail.com

Faith is a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny; a loyalty or allegiance to a cause or a person and a complete confidence in a person or plan.

Evidence in its broadest sense, refers to anything that is used to determine or demonstrate the truth of an assertion.

Faith isn't evidence. Faith can lead to the wrong conclusion and it is only as reliable as the one who is holding the faith.

That's a great question.

What many of the answerers apparently haven't considered is that faith is the principle motivation for action in all of us. For example, turning on a light requires faith that the light switch will work. There is evidence that it will, but you don't know for sure.

To attempt to not perform any action until you have a perfect certainty (whatever that means) would bring the world to a standstill.

I've come to realize that the best way to not be deceived is to use both faith and reason or mind and heart in a balanced manner. For example, one way to control people is to get them angry (e.g., mob psychology). Another way to do this is to throw a lot of technical jargon at them making you think you know what you're talking about even though they don't "feel" quite right about it. These are examples of how people can be deceived by depending too much on either faith or reason alone.

For me, my heart and mind, or in other words, my faith and reason both tell me that God exists and that he cares about us. Using both faith and reason has taught me a great deal about God and his plan for our development.

Faith is not evidence of anything under any circumstances whatsoever, and is in fact the ultimate evil: it is the deliberate abjuring of the one distinguishing feature of humanity -- the ability to draw logical conclusions from evidence. So, not only can faith lead to a wrong conclusion, it is virtually certain that it will.

faith can be evidence in some circumstances

by faith god spoke the world into existence...he just believed himself...and it was done.

many times faith alone produces a result that would otherwise not happen...in this case, faith is the evidence

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. - Hebrews 11: 1

The Word of God makes it reliable.

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

If you know and follow the Word of God you will not come to the wrong conclusion.

Faith is a comfort tool. Kids have blankeys and teddy bears to soothe their fears of the dark and the boogeyman. Adults have religion and the concept of an afterlife to soothe their fears of death and the unknown.

It depends what you put your faith in. Some scientists say that the Sun will exhaust itself in 5 billion years but are they worried? No.
