I was just wondering lately.... During the summer, there are white puffs (circular) that float around in the sky; there are tiny seeds in the centre. They kinda look like the fluffy dandilions that blow off, but these don't have the seeds dangling from them... where do these puffs come from?????

I don't think there are a lot of trees around my area, but they must have traveled really far...

Do you have milkweed or cattails in your area? Parachute style seeds come from the milkweed family, or dandelions while cottony style seeds come from cattail spikes. The parachute hairs or cotton tuft are called a coma. Both gives loft but cotton gives a bit less distance than when it is spread out like a parachute. The cotton group includes cottonwoods, willows, evening primroses, and sycamore trees.
