Hard to understand isn't it??? Have U ever watched "Magic" knowing all along that it was not real, but yet U saw it with Ur very eyes??? I'm sure that U & I have both been witness to the acts U ask about, and that our eyes are really seeing it happen, but our brain has been "Programmed" by the world to believe that God is Responsible for "Allowing" this to happen right? We hear it all the time when something WE think is bad happens to someone. Problem is, when WE sit in Judgment, WE are trying to Play God, which is wrong. Yes, we see pix. of starving children, sick & dying people & if it were up to Us, we would take care of them. But this World has, in God's Perfect Justice, been turned over for a while to Satan who is causing these things to happen, NOT God. God has a Plan for all of our lives based on the work of His son Jesus who was also Murdered, that WE might have an Eternal Home in Heaven if We believe in Jesus Christ's Saving work on the cross. Although we may have to endure hardships for our life here on earth, that is a short time compared to spending forever in Heaven. Hope this helps put it into focus for U??? John

I know it sure seems that way sometimes. I spent years questioning my Christian faith after a good person got murdered right in front of me in high school. I asked a lot of pastors that same question and they would feed me something about "trust in God, he is good, he loves you, and so on", which, while true, really wasn't the answer I was looking for. Finally, I asked the right pastor that question and I thought he made a very good point: If only good things happened to good people and only bad things happened to bad people, being Christian wouldn't be a faith based belief. It would make it an easy decision and the bible often tells us that the road to heaven is a hard, narrow road and the road to hell is a broad and easy one. God doesn't make bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people. He allows both to happen though, so that you will walk by faith, and take comfort in the rewards awaiting you in heaven.

Note to Egiptian - I don't know what bible you're reading, but you have a twisted way of interpreting it. Maybe you should learn the language in which your bible is written so you can properly understand it before "informing" others as to your conclusions.

In no religion does God guarantee a happy, pain-free existence. The rewards of faith are usually reserved for after life. God must allow these actions, or impinge upon free will. But why should he? If all life and pain are transient, why interfere and rob people of agency and accountability?

For the record, I am not religious and am up in the air on God.

I do not know...but i recently found out that when the bad guys in Iraq make (at times) totally innocent people dissappear in the middle of the night, only to reappear dead on the street days later...they many times are tortured for days...one of the many common tortures that they do, is taking a powerdrill, with about a 1/4 bit,,,and drilling into the bottum of the feet up through the ankle...

if god can allow such a monsterous thing to happen, i dont have much good to say about god

Supposedly it is because the evil people can have this life but not the next. It is also a test for good people to show God their strength against troublesome times. Also for those who are observing the injustice, to help those who are in need. For those who suffer in this life, they should not take their own lives but to fight it out knowing that the next life they have the ultimate happiness in store for them.

To use God or the Devil as an excuse is itself evil!
The world will not change until we take responsibility for our own acts!

I know what u mean bro. The truth is God does not protect his own as many would have u believe. He did not protect Abel from Cain nor did he protect John the baptist.

As a matter of fact when the soldiers were coming for Jesus he had to arm himself with swords to defend himself cause he knew what kind of god he was dealing with. He told his disciple to sell your garments to buy one if u had none 2 verses before this quote.

Luk 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

This world is but a blink of the eye compared to the eternity that awaits us. These good people will one day look down from heaven and laugh at what they once thought was suffering. This world only exists as the best wat to create the next world in heaven.

Good people were taught to turn the other cheek, to love the enemy and forgive those who offended him seventy times seven. How will evil people be not taking all the opportunities given to them by the teachings of Jesus?

The sun shines on the good and wicked. People treat people bad. The only way to turn the tide is for good people to keep being good.
