I'm not going to do it for the rest of my life, I just want a one time tan. Am I really going to get skin cancer if I use a tanning bed once?

I'd get a spray tan but apparently they don't last long and my friend smelled like freaking dog food after she did it.

Advice please.

I use the tanning bed, because spray tans do make you smelly, and they tend to be a little more orange than a tan. Skin cancer is always a risk of tanning in a bed, but if this is going to be a one time only, then I think you'll be okay.

Plus, if you decide to go into a tanning bed, use tanning lotion. That will decrease your risk of getting burnt, and getting skin cancer!

A tanning mattress is something that I want over a sprig tan. definite, tanning beds are risky, yet not extra risky than being in the sunlight for an prolonged volume of time without sunlight show. you initiate noticing your tan the 1st time of use, although that's no longer in all possibility visibly tan for roughly one week of use. With spray tans, that's an instantaneous seem which you have have been given been tanning, yet quite much each and every spray tan has a noticable orange seem to it. no count number if or no longer you will locate it, many can. I say flow with the tanning mattress. you will no longer seem orange that way!

There aren't too many people who can be tan by using the bed just once. It depends on your skin. I know people who go to the bed on a regular basis and only have a little color. All that money and all the potential skin damage for just a light tan...seems silly. Then there are others who can go a few times and be very tan. The main problem is those beds are dangerous, addictive and expensive.

Why not try a self-tanning lotion? There are so many on the market and they are safe. You can use them at night and shower in the morning and you don't have to worry about any odor. Jergens' and Dove's are very good. After about 4 applications, you will see a big difference.

Yes,it is possible for you to get skin cancer, but one time wont hurt..But then again you wont be able to have a tan going only once. So,I think you should use the spray, there are different kinds if you dont want to smell like dog food lol Good Luck! =)

SPRAY or use self tanner, it lasts a little longer than the spray and doesn't run if you get it wet.
Skin Cancer is caused by UV rays from the sun and tanning beds. I had a friend who died at age 23 from skin cancer and she didn't even know she had it until it was too late.......

Don't use a tanning bed. Ever. Not only do tanning beds and sunlight cause skin cancer, they will make you UGLY. Really. Here are some pictures:

once won't kill you, but it also won't give you a tan. You need to go about three times in a bed to get a tan, but only once for the spray and you can prolong it with moisturizers.

Get a spray tan- they are much more even and quick. Plus you get a nice tan instead of reddish.
You can shower four hours after you get tanned, but its true you will stink until you wash off.

i would definitely go with the tanning bed...several friends of mine have done the spray tans & it looked horrid...i can best describe them as looking like mutant pumpkins & once the color began to go away, it was flaking like peeling paint...but u would need to tan more than once in a bed, probably several times a week for 2-3 weeks just to get started...

Tanning bed!!!
You never want a spray or a tanning lotion!
It will make you look orange, tou may have dark spots and your hands will be really orange and dark!
It isn't very good for your skin either way and tanning beds do take longer.
If you get a natural tan WEAR SUNSCREEN!
People say you don't get a tan like that but sunscreen just stop you from getting burnt!
