One of our freedoms according to the constitution is the pursuit of happiness. I cannot see the pursuit of happines, or anything that brings about or is expected to bring about happiness, as a waste of time. So, if you enjoy YA, or napping, or watching 48 hour marathons of old shows, or whatever, it can't be a waste of time.

Conversely, anything that goes against your pursuit of happiness- fighting with your spouse or significant other (unless you enjoy that), spending a weekend with you mother-in-law, ANYTHING that truly works against your unhappiness in the short and long term, IS truly a waste of your valuable and lmited time.

What you and I are both doing right now is a waste of time, but it's really fun.

Golf. Think about it. You have the ball (you must want it).
You put it down(maybe you don't).
You hit as hard as you can to get it as far away from you as possible(obviously you don't want it).
You now chase after it(ok so you changed your mind).
Now you repeat this at least 17 more times(make up your mind).

Yahoo! answers, for sure...

TV can be, if you sit around all day and watch nothing but cartoons. Personally I enjoy Discovery. :)

And I feel that homework and teacher lectures are the biggest time wasters...my homeschooled friend gets so much more done now!

trying to get people to agree with you. a lot of people are strong-willed with strong opinions, so its a waste of time arguing just to try and get them into your way of thinking.

ps, personally i like diversity. it makes for a better debate.
