What good does disputing a charge do if they can still file a negative credit report?

Am I going to have to file a dispute with the credit companies after all this is over as well?

I hate to say this but after looking at credit reports everyday for quite sometime now I have learned theat collectors usually report to the CRAs before they even notify you. I know somebody might say they can't do that its illegal. TRUE, but they do and trying to prove it is hard.

When you dispute it they are suppose to add that comment to the tradeline it still hurts you. the comment added usually says this

"Consumer disputes item"

Good luck and check out the link on lawsuits

If you disputed the account within the first 30 days after receiving notification of the debt from the collector and they have failed to validate, they have violated the following by reporting on your credit reports --

§ 809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g]
(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

Reporting is continued collections.

You should file disputes with the CRA's while the collector is still under validation - if they verify before validating, that would be another violation.

They in all possibility stated it earlier you open the dispute. as quickly as Equifax gets a checklist, it could stay on your credit regardless of if the series enterprise does not make greater comments. in case you dispute it with Equifax, and that they have not widespread that it relatively is right interior 30-40 5 days, then they must do away with it out of your Equifax credit checklist till it relatively is widespread. This rule is further on basically by ability of disputing it with Equifax, no longer by ability of disputing it with the series enterprise.
