If you mean that what is preached is not practiced, then I agree.

Religion isn't dead. Many people have many different religions in the USA. Where did you get the statistic about 90% of Americans and the Bible? The Bible has many good points, even for those who are not Christian. Most religions share the same basic principles about morality and how one should act, anyway.

Religion is not dead. It's very much alive and stirring the pot constantly.

Those who think using the basic teachings of the bible would solve problems ought to start following them and then we could know if they are right or not. Instead they tend to ignore everything but the "We are saved" part.

Sadly, it is not dead. A surprising majority still believes that we are the product of intelligent design and an even larger majority believes in Heaven & Hell. Additionally, Atheists are less trusted than any other minority group including Muslims, Queers and undocumented immigrants. A Gallup poll found that 35% of Americans believe that the Bible is literal.

Nope, we're still dealing with the mind-control of religion and it's more rampant than it is in any other developed nation.

Don't know what you mean. What constitutes a religion being "dead" if 90% of Americans appear to be religious?

Which society are you referring to? If religion is dead then 90% would not think it had value.

"most, if not all, problems can be solved using basic teachings in the bible."

I'm sorry, what?

Reverse global warming. Solve the energy crisis. Cure disease. Make better computers, more efficient cars, all using the teachings in the bible. Shouldn't be hard, right?

Lol, come down and visit the Bible belt sometime and see for yourself just how "dead" religion is in the USA.

How can you imagine religion is dead? It's busily doing exactly what it's believers have always intended -- suppressing intellectual freedom and retarding the advancement of human civilization.

DUH, religion is not appreciated with the USA because there are too many different types of it. And if a single religion was established for the whole country, there would obviously be chaos. Yes, morals are dead, but not religion. People are too afraid to express their religion because of the discrimination they will face if they do. You can't have it both ways; either you pick a religion for the whole country, or you expect that there is no religion.

God is not dead and where ever you look He is. There are many that are with God in America, look at Wilkie (David Wilkinson). He helped God bring Nicki Cruise to the Lord. Just keep your eye's on Jesus. That's why He gave us a rainbow to remind us of His promise.
