I was offered a promotion and raise within my company, however if I would take this job it is a longer drive that puts me driving right through downtown and I wouldn't have weekends off anymore... What are your opinions of what I should do?

Money isn't everything but, your piece of mind is. I think that if you are asking this question, that you already know the answer.

It really depends on where you want your career to be in say 5-10 years. If you are content with where you are right now and would like to stick with it then pass on the promotion. However, if you do want to advance your career to the next level you may have to make a few sacrifices along the way. Just remember that if you pass this one up you may not be offered another. Make sure you think long and hard about what you want for your future before answering.

This is really something you are going to have to answer on your own. If pays quite a bit more and its a great job then I would say take it but you really have to weigh your options and whats important to you before you decide. If you have children then losing the weekends could be a bad deal because sometimes thats the only time you have to spend with them. Take everything into account.

You're the only one who can decide whether it's worth it. Money isn't everything.

Good luck.
