I don't think your problem is the coating on your lenses.

First of all, no, you can't. You need new lenses.

But the antireflective coating is mostly cosmetic, I think: it stops your glasses from acting like mirrors so that people can see your eyes, instead of themselves and the thickness of your glasses.

There are many conditions that can cause a deficit in night vision. Go back to your optometrist. If he/she can't help you, please see your family doctor, or an ophtalmologist (i.e., a doctor who specializes in eyes, as opposed to an optometrist/optician, who is licensed to dispense glasses but is not a doctor.)

You can have it put on afterward, but if there are any scratches on the lenses it won't work very well. Go back and talk to your optician. There will be an additional charge for the coating. If they can't do it, they'll change the lenses out for new, coated ones which may or may not cost more than the coating itself. Many opticals guarantee their work for 30-60 days and you can make changes if not satisfied. I personally like the Crizal coating. It is a nice anti-reflective coating with scratch resistant properties and doesn't tend to yellow and flake with age.

yes, but check to see how long it takes. some places don't do it on site, but send the glasses off to be done.
