The price will go down when:
1. The oil companies build more refineries in the US
2. The unrest in the middle east ends
3. The Chinese economy goes into recession
It will probably never go back to the $1.25 a gallon that we were accustomed to for so long :-(

I agree with j76spirit.
The liberals start moaning and complaining everytime anyone wants to build a new refinery, while at the same time they blame Bush for everything. We're losing a refinery every couple months it seems. But the war in Iraq ending will bring down prices.
It also would be useful if people would show some defiance. Instead of using public transportation, bikes, walking, etc., you can see them on the news saying "well I still am going to go where I want to go and do the things I want to do so I'll pay whatever." The oil companies see that and raise it to $4 a gallon. If this trend continues, in less than 5 years it will be $10 a gallon.

Regardless of what you hear from the politicians and the oil companies, you can count on gas going up and staying high for the summer. Yes, consumption goes up, but its my opinion that people are less elastic with their demand for fuel in the summer when many vacation and the kids are out of school.
