Yes, we have. Our government has been more than accommodating...they're so afraid to say anything that might offend the atheists...I am so sick and tired of people feeling like they have to bend over backwards for a measly 1% of people who do not believe in God. The majority rules, right? I am a Democratic Christian (an oxymoron) and even I think the extreme liberals are taking things too far.

all great empires and nations do come to an end sooner or later. The greeks and roman empires fell. But as for being tolerant. This country was founded on religious freedom and it should always remain that way.

It has never been tolerant of anyone that thinks or believes differently...it was supposedly founded on the basis of religious freedom...that is unless, you were a Mormon, Jehovah's Witness..Witch, Catholic, etc...whom have all been persecuted in the U.S. by Fundamentalists...not to mention the intollerance of black people and gay people...
So no, tolerance is not something widely practiced in the U.S....we may give it lip service...but, it does not truly exist....maybe not as bad as Arab nations...but, we are headed that way if we keep putting fundamentalists into power in government.

Perhaps you need a history refresher. The United States is not a christian nation. You will not see the word 'god' anywhere in the US Constitution and that was done purposely by our fore-fathers most of whom were deists. They realized the dangers of a theocracy and were determined to keep that at bay legally.

Do I detect a breath of fresh air?
Equilibrium. Water seeks its own level. An ice cube becomes warmer as the drink becomes cooler. Every day the sun upsets the equilibrium of the earth, and every day the forces of nature again seek their own level. “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.” (Eccl 1:7 KJV) Nature’s forces seek the course of least resistance as they find the place where a balance is found. There they remain at rest until they are again disturbed. We refer to “the balance of nature” in recognition of the fact that all facets of nature are self-regulating, each finding their balance.
Truth and error mirrors this balance. There is a code for moral and ethical conduct that has come to be known as “natural law”. William Blackstone considered this as “dictated by God himself”. That “It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force, and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original". The consequence of an imbalance, whether in truth or in nature, sets into motion a process whereby the imbalance runs a course back to equilibrium.
Since the fall of Adam there have been peoples whose ideologies have run contrary to God’s truth. These individuals, cultures or societies were not at rest. Any departure from God’s way will either fester to a point of decay, intensify to a point of destruction, or progress through stages of discovery until the deviation is purged and equilibrium restored.
I agree. Enough toleration of ignorance is enough. Let's get back to being a Christian nation. Maybe we'll get lucky and the intolerant atheists will leave.
