D'u know it baffles me why folk answer these questions if all they are going to do is rip you to pieces for not having the same opinion as them! You go for it if that's what you want to do and have a brill vet to help you. My boxer has just had a c section and yes she suffered and rejected the babies so I had to feed them, it was hard work but worth it. Don't listen to the negative folk who are obviously so far up their own butts that they can't see the positive in anything that others do. It really annoys me, why be so judgemental huh??? we all have to learn.
I wish you all the luck in the world with your venture which ever way you chose to go but don't let the 'judges' / busybodies put you off

I don;t have one myself, but I know someone who bred a few litters. Yes because they too have big heads more often than not a c-section is needed. Yes c-sections are very expensive and yes sometimes the mother will die even with a c-section.

Sometimes you will also end up having to hand raise the pups if the mother lives too as not all mothers who have given birth by c-section will accept the pups. This would mean bottle feeding day and night every 2 hours for the first 2 weeks then every 3 hours or so for the next 2 weeks. Then you can start them on solid food at about 4 weeks, but you still have to supliment bottle feeds too until they can properly lap from a bowl or plate.

Because the births if they are natural are often difficult breeding of these dogs are best left to breeders who have bred several times before and would know the signs of the mother getting into trouble and know the correct way to assist right away.

Best to get your female spayed.

To the best of my knowlage the British Bulldog and the English Bulldog are the same breed - known simply as Bulldog by AKC. YEs normal birth is rare with the breed and even mating often needs medical assistance. Trouble with the pups is more often than most breeds - not a breed I'd recomend for a novice breeder without a VERY good mentor....

Don't know about needing a Caesarean, but Bull Terriers can be notoriously bad mothers. As you don't even appear to know the correct name for your breed, I'd suggest that, rather than asking on here, you contact the experts in breeding good, healthy typical Bull Terriers - the breed clubs.

as far as i have been told ebt are generally more likly to need a c section due to size of puppies head and the shape the head is...u could be lucky and have a normal birth .. but i would strongly advise u if u do breed ur girl ,,have your vets number available at all times during birth...it can be very costly having a c section for ur girl.anything from £150 - £350 ..but sayin that .. most dogs can need a c section....just think before u go ahead ..the c section is costly as well as the saftey and up bringing of puppies once they are born ...

Not sure about bull terriers but I have always heard that old English bulldogs have to have their puppies taken by c-section.
