In the event of total nuclear destruction, the following items will survive:
Privet hedge
Zucchini
Cockroaches
Twinkies
The privet hedge will give the roaches somewhere to live while they unwrap the Twinkies, and they can eat the zucchini. Then they can use the Twinkies to construct little roach condos and town houses.

Ahhhh... perhaps one of the most diabolical and secretive plots in all of the religious and philosophical genres. You have discovered the true alien implant. Twinkies have an eternal place in time immortal. Think of it. They have their perfect golden brown exterior. Light and fluffy, filled with creamy goodness, they provide the perfect tricotomy of life. they will rule the earth someday. My family made a "time capsule" 18 years ago...We put in a twinkie amoung other things. I am very sure the twinkie is alive and
doing well.

Yeah, I bet if you put a box in a time capsule, put it away for 250 years they'd still be there good as they day they came off the production line. There are soooo many preservatives in that it will never decompose.
