I pray, I pray for God to guide the surgeons hands, I pray for their quick recovery, I pray that they will have peace, and comfort.

I pray to God to give the person undergoing surgery as well as the family and friends the strength to deal with whatever the outcome of the surgery is and that we all be able to accept the will of God.

My grandfather just had hip reconstruction after a very serious car accident. I haven't prayed because I don't believe a god exists. I have, however, made sure he had the best surgeon we could find, has gotten top-notch after-care, and will be placed with one of the best physical therapists in the city. He also has gotten lots of visits from the people who love him and lots of food and plants and cards. I feel as though we are doing everything to make sure he does well, gets better, and is comfortable...what does reciting prayer have to do with it?

Yes, you pray. You ask God to be with the person having surgery, the doctors and nurses and everyone in the operating room. But above all you ask that God's will be done and that the person has peace.

I pray for their recovery, but I acknowledge that God has a plan. I'll also be right by their side to support and comfort them as much as possible.

You pray with all your heart to God that they will soon be well in body and spirit. Visit with them often and don't forget to take some flowers with you ( yellow flowers seem to bring cheer to those who are ill or take their favourite kind). Hope your friend gets well real soon.

Funny coincidence I had surgery this morning. But I would pray for them and pray with them.

In Jesus Name

I hope that the surgeons are highly skilled, rested, healthy, sober, in a good mood, etc. and I hope that my loved one's chances of survival are good. In other words, I hope that the conditions that exist in reality are conducive to a favorable outcome, and my thoughts and actions are for the benefit of the human beings involved in the situation.

God has nothing to do with anything, because God doesn't exist.
