I go to church every Sunday because I love getting together with my friends and family and praising God. If you prefer to worship on your own, that's your choice. No one should condemn you for that. Your relationship with God is between the two of you.

if you HAVE to work that's one thing. I don't think anyone should be looked down on for that. There's nothing you can do about it. But i go every sunday, and any job i have had i have made it known to them that i will not work sundays. I haven't run into too many problems with that. But it is a commandment to keep the sabbath day holy. Part of that is worshiping, the other part is keeping your focus on the Lord that day. You can't really be thinking about the Lord when out partying, or other activities that might make it hard to keep a reverent attitude (as much as possible, obviously can't all the time) throughout the day. This is a choice i have made, but i don't think that anyone should be judged or looked down on. God is all that can judge, and He will decide when the time comes if you were diligent enough. So do you what you think is right, and what you believe Lord expects you to do, and forget about what others say. They are condemming themselves by judging you anyway!:)

My church teaches from the bible. We start at Genesis and go to Revelation. It takes about eight years! And then we start all over again. I love going to church on Sunday because I benefit from the wonderful bible teaching. We're in the Book of Acts right at the moment. I also love the praise and worship, I like the reading from the bible and I like being around a bunch of other Christians who came to hear the Word, too.
I think the wrong church can really burn you out. Like, a church that is dead, and there is no joy there. There are churches that teach God's word and are alive with the spirit of Christ. Those are the ones that make you look forward to Sundays!

I think some people go to be with other people that think the same way they do. You know, people often will conglomerate with others if they all think, or feel the same way. It makes them feel good. It also "helps them" through the coming week so that they can shoot down all the "sinners"
Honestly, I don't know why they do. Practicing your religion by yourself is fine. You have a life, live it, worship how you wish. You shouldn't have to go to church to believe in God. If the belief is in your heart that is good enough.

Isn't part of following your religion going to church on Sundays?
I am a Catholic and I go to Mass on Sundays to be with fellow Christians in my community to praise and worship God, to pray for other, to ask them to pray for me, to receive the body and Blood of Christ and generally just to be with others.
The Catholic faith is not strictly a "God and me" faith, but a "God and us" faith. If you do not gather with others as part of your faith, you will never have the opportunity to see Christ in others.
In regards to working on Sundays, nearly evry catholic church has a Mass on Saturday evening, usually sometime around 5:00 - 6:30 pm so you can fulfill your Sunday obligation on Saturday.
Check it out.

Again choice. we can choose to go or not go.
hey Giggly: God does not reside in the church building only so not going to church does not mean you don't have God.
The bible encourages us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves. We gain strength from that. It never said if you don't you don't have God.

To repent their sins and remind themselves how much more superior they are than everyone else. To refill their reason ammo for the week to come, when they will be confronted with all those sinners.
Yes, it should be enough that you follow.
