well I was baptised twice. Once when I was going to the batist church and then again when I became catholic.

The reason is, when i was attending the baptist church they baptised me in the name of Jesus only, and in the Catholic church we baptise in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit.

I don't know why we should remember it, but i do remember both very vividly.

The first baptism was a full submersion. And i was 15. We were in a swimming pool and they held me under for so long I thought I was going to drown. And then they did it three more times. I came up fighting and shouting the third time. made a huge scene.

The second time was just a sprinkling of water.

But all I could think the second time around was "wow after tonight I will be a Catholic!"

hope this helps with your paper

you don't need to remember exaclty what happened in sequence or anything, but baptism is an ordinance performmed because it is essential to return to heaven. Jesus stated this all over the bible. He was even baptized, even though baptism is to cleanse on of sin, and He had no sin. But He was the example, and also He said in john 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." He also said when John was to baptize HIm, and John asked why He said in Matt 3:15 "And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. " it's the only way to get to heaven, it is a rquirement to fulfill righteousness. There are tons more biblical refrences if you would like more for your paper, just let me know! Hope that helped!:)

I suppose it is good to remember when you were Baptized, because if you are a born again Christian, that date relates to your second birth. For instance someone born on May 1, 1976, might have been born again on August 15,1997. Its a good way to open a conversation if you are anxious to witness to someone. Also, Baptism records, such as date and time are kept by churches and could be used in the future for identification purposes.

You don't need to remember your baptism, especially since many Christians are baptized as infants.

Baptism replaced circumcision as a sign of being adopted into the church. Most Jews did not remember their circumcision.

It is not crucial to remember one's baptism. What's crucial is receiving the sacrament itself, no matter what age you are.

Yes. Baptism means open declaration of your commitment to serving God. It must be done with full knowledge of who he is. What he wants? How to properly serve him?

Little children cannot do this. Accurate knowledge is necessary.

Baptism is a covenant that we make with God that we are willing to always remember what Christ did for us, that we are giving up all our sins to be like Him, to take upon us the name of Christ, to become one of His Children in the Gospel and a member of His family. In exchange, He promises to bless us with His spirit to comfort us and guide us in our lives. Remembering our baptism is essential to remembering why we are following Christ and why we want to become like Him. We should always be aware of the promises we made with God and with Christ. To do otherwise is tantamount to giving up our salvation.
We are buried in the water in likeness to Christ's burial in the tomb and we are brought up out of the water in likeness to His resurrection, a new and spiritual being. Thus, the baptism is rich in symbolism that is important to remember as well.

I got sick from the incense, and threw up on the priest. I took it as a sign that maybe Catholocism wasn't for me.
