Hmm, you're on thin ice there my tartan friend. Most of the issues you list with our transatlantic cousins are the work of their current and previous governments; and if we judged all nations on the actions of their governments then we would be in a very sorry state indeed (and we in Britain would be on the same thin ice you currently occupy).
The fact is that there are a good many thousand American soldiers buried in northern France who were killed in the last two world wars, so the freedom to criticize you currently enjoy is in no small part due to their sacrifice. Along with the many British,Irish,Canadian,Polish,Aussie, New Zealand etc soldiers who also fell.
And as for bastardizing the English language; you're off beam again. The Pilgrims who initially made the trip over the pond retained most of the original old English spellings and pronunciations, and these are the pronunciations and spellings currently in use in the USA today. So it's actually us that have "bastardized" the English language, though I prefer to think it has evolved.
I think an apology may be in order....

yanks are people from the northern half of the continental us.
As for the wars I don't know anyone who is proud of them in hindsight I'm proud of the soldiers who died doing what they hoped was right.
what do you mean bastardizing the english language? Every region has a different way of speaking,
As for the wrong side of the road thing, the USA had cars first we chose the right side, not our fault if you don't agree.
Light switches depend on what house you go in. in my house they are one way, in a friends another, and another friend has a nob, now that is strange.
Obese? you should be glad about-shorter life span.
Poluting is horrible! but there still isn't garbage all over the cities (well, in the central us) unlike the european countries I've seen.
Again the polution thing.
KKK didn't start in the US check your history.

I always ignore your posts sis flump because you are full of hate, but this time you have brought shame on the Scottish Nation. I am very upset over this question..but i am also upset over some of the comments from Americans..i had no idea so many disliked the Scott's. A lot of Scott's emigrated to America yrs ago, some of my dad's family included. It's sad that the rubbish you spout out here sister flump has been responded to in such a cruel way, especially in R&S..
I would just like add, i disagree with the accusation you have made here, and i have always been an admirer of America..but this whole thing is very upsetting..
T/bell and I'm Scottish and happy about the fact..
To Americans..she is out to bait good honest ppl and spread hatred..if you read her post's you will understand..

Vietnam - Before my time, but no one in my family had a say in that.
Iraq - I didn't have a say so.
Hiroshima - Before my time, but no one in my family had a say in that.
Bastardizing the English language - guilty. My brother came up with the word "gription" which is kinda like gripping and kinda like traction rolled together. And I came up with "blate" which is like a blade of lightening. But it was for a fantasy novel I wrote, so that doesn't count.
Driving on the wrong side of the road - lol! I thought it was the other way around.
Your light switches are upside down! - Are they? Hmm.
Most obese nation on earth - Unfortunately true, but I'm not obese, so this doesn't apply to me personally.
Most polluting country on earth - Not true. I think that's China.
Turning blind eye to enviromental damage - Not true. I know many individuals who are concerned with our environment and do what they can as individuals to help the environment.
KKK - I didn't have anything to do with them.

So I am proud of "MYSELF" (you asked if we were proud of ourselves) because most of that - I had nothing to do with. Though I think some of the things on the list are somewhat trivial... like the alleged bastardizaton of language. Languages don't exist in vacuums or they die. They're always evolving. And the wrong side of the road and upside down light switches are just funny. :)

lets say you are of British descent! LATS TIME I CHECKED SCOTT'S ARE PART OF BRITAIN!
are you proud of yourself?

you have enslaved the world as we know it!
you have taken ppls land and plundered and started wars and killed ! you left it dry and left it in such a mess and poverty, people are still dying as a result of it today!
your national treasure is an old woman with diamonds on her head - DIAMONDS STOLEN FROM AFRICA , African gold , African treasures that could aid them soo much in becoming successful!
your country is displaying ancient artifacts stolen by British soldiers during WW2 and all though we have established through international court that they do not belong to you you wont give them back! LOOSER

so all in all you are nothing more then a plundering , murdering , warmongering wannabe , that is snobbish and has not manners or etiquette , exhibits no respect and only knows how to judge!

oh yeah - what pride that is! YOU SUCK
not to mention your stuck up English language!
most ppl in this world drive in the proper side of the road only a few idiotic places still haven't gotten the drift!

I am not an American , but I can say I have loved them , I love them , because they have a lot more character then your entire nation ever will have!
aren't you just the greatest?!!!!!!

I wouldnt go so far, since every country has bad and good things, they are pretty tolerant people (I am never scared they´ll report me, I am scared of British though) there is one thing I dont like about America, it´s it the people who is proud of the obsolete right to bear arms.
And the people, from whichever country, who says their Country is the best. For me the best is the one who doesn´t say so.

SCOTLAND is the best country on earth?
Hmmm..that's a first.
Everybody thinks their country is best, but you obviously aren't educated enough on The USA to come up with concrete facts.
Just another complainer to add to the insecure whiners list.
You speak rubbish and are full of hatred.
So sad to be wasting your life on hating a country when you know nothing about the people who live here.

America like any other country has good things and bad things about it. I am ashamed of some of the things that our country has done. However I am proud to live in a country where I can say that without fear. I am proud to live in a country with no cast system and where women have the same rights as men. I believe for any country the way to bring about a better tomorrow is to teach our children to be loving, kind people & to respect other people and our planet.

Unfortunately for you, in your arrogant declarations, you're wrong. China is now one of the most polluting countries on this Earth, and is turning a "blind eye to environmental damage" about as much as quite a few 3rd world countries. Racist haters exist in every country on this planet, and other countries have their own versions of Vietnam, Iraq and Hiroshima to some degree or another. Careful you don't bite your tongue there...
