Now, as the pork barrel money and spend schemes are being exposed for the stalling tactics they are, the Pelosi/Reid regime is now and only now deciding to actually care about the soldiers and consider funding without grandstanding. Finally the bill authorizing the soldier funding is being offered to the president without retreat broadcasting and as much useless pork as previoiusly offered.

precisely how has risking the lives of our soldiers over tax money and taunting al qaeda by offering retreat dates been...."working"? Thats the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard.

The democratic tactics were not intended to safeguard the soldiers, or to improve the US's position , in any way. It was designed to weaken the current administration, lend discredit between the troops and the white house, slide in pork projects having nothing to do with the war effort, and generally disrupt the war effort in any way it could.
The voters who voted in this Congress certainly have some soul searching to do between now and the next elections. Hopefully they will realize that a terrible mistake has been made in bringing these self serving upstarts to power. This problem can be rectified, but it will take all of us at the voting booth to work together in ridding our Congress of this vermin !

They will keep grandstanding until the polls say it is causing them more negative numbers than positive. I hope the President hangs tough and keeps vetoing any sort of benchmark or timeline.

MAYBE THEY HAVE REALIZED THAT THE LEADER OF THIS COUNTRY IS BUSH UNTIL 2008. THEY CAN PLAY BOSS WHEN AND IF THEY GET ELECTED IN. TIL THEN THEY BETTER PLAY NICE OR NOTHING GETS DONE.
