Christians should not be afraid of death. "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain" Philippians 1:21

It is a natural tendency for any and all animals that possess a 'flight or fight' instinct to fear what they do not fully understand. Humans have the unique ability to reason, to compromise and to rationalise.
We are self aware.
These traits give us the ability to recognise the inevitable conclusion of our lives and all of our powers of reasoning avail us nought. Death is an enemy where 'fight or flight' are mute issues and we cannot reason it away.
We are proud of who we are, our achievements, our successes and our legacy.
We are also aware that it will all pass away with time and as a result, all traces of our existence will also disappear.
If we had actual, physical proof of the Resurrection the fears would disappear.
But we don't and as a result, fear death and the results of it: obscurity.
I'm a christian.
I fear death.
But I fear the Lord my God even more and he sees me through.
