We went fishing at the lake for about an hour and a half in the heat of the day and by the time we were getting ready to leave she was laying next to me which she's usually running around all the time at the lake. All the way home she layed down in the back of the truck which she also never does. She's been very tired around the house and shaky when she gets up after we call. Any advice would be great.

Heat stroke common in dogs...make sure that water is available to her, encourage her to drink by giving her ice cubes (my dogs love them). Could be something else though if she's not perking up later after cooling down...something she ate, etc. Continue to monitor and call a vet if needed

If she really has heat stroke, you need to get her to a vet -- IMMEDIATELY. Heat stroke is a medical EMERGENCY. But if she has heat EXHAUSTION, then you can treat her at home.

Here is a good web site:
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/heat_exhaustion_and_heat_stroke/article_em.htm

It might be something else... Could she have eaten something bad?

If she were my dog, I'd go to the vet. Good luck.

Water available at all times... and also I saw a bandana like thing that you and soak in water or freeze it and tie it around your dog's neck. You can get it at the pet supply store I believe. A friend of mine has a pug who is very sensative to heat to she had that around his neck.

I hope it makes sense and helps.

Yes, any living being can have a heat stroke. If the beeyotch isn't drinking any H2O try giving her some pedialite.

Get her to the vet fast. She could have eaten something at the lake which could be poison.

She is dehydrated. You need to get her to a vet for IV fluids. Dogs can die from dehydration.
