I think you're just fine. Sometimes your body just wants to be a certain size. Consider yourself lucky that it doesn't want to go the other way.

Well, this all depends on if you excersize a lot or not. If you don't, then the reason for being underweight might be the lack of muscle that you have. If this is the case, then maybe consider eating the same amount of food, exersize 2-3 days a week and have a protein shake after the workouts. This will help you put on some extra, healthy weight. If you do exersize, then maybe consider eating or having a protein shake after to increase your weight. This is probably the most effective, healthy ways for you to put on weight. I hope this will clarify things and help you.

Don't knock yourself out worrying. The BMI, like nearly everything else approved by the Surgeon General, is accurate only to a very small percentage of the population. It can't take into consideration those who do not fall in their limited "average" category. Body fat would be a far better test, but skip the bodyfat scales and laser fat testers. Get a 5 or 7-point caliper test, BodPod test or get yourself weighed underwater. At 5'3", 108 - if you exercise at all - you're probably just fine.

If you are underweight it is only by a few pounds. I wouldn't worry about it, enjoy it, because when you hit 25/26 years old, everything slows down, and you have to work to keep yourself from getting overweight! I am 5'3", used to be a size 0, about 110-115 pounds, now I'm 27, and have been struggling to fit a size 9! I used to be able to eat anything, now even lettuce makes me gain weight!

If you feel healthy and eat healthy, that's what matters. The BMI is just an average. Some people just can't keep on weight for different reasons. I would agree to check your thyroid if you're worried. You may have hyperthyroidism, but I would check out the other symptoms of that before you worry.

What do you mean, you don't try to make yourself sick? Are you saying you get sick for no reason? If so, you know that's a lie and the beginning of an eating disorder. You should never throw up after eating, no matter what.

Otherwise, you should probably start doing some light weight training to build muscle. You are at high risk for osteoporosis. Plus, your metabolism will slow at 25 and again at 30, causing you to gain weight faster than usual if you don't have a lot of lean muscle in your body.

Don't pay attention to BMI. It is not a good measure of overall health, nor was it ever intended to be a measure of overall health.

It was invented by a belgian scientist in the 19th century for the purposes of sociological polling. Why it is being used to gauge health is beyond me.

You're healthy. Relax.

If you are small-boned, then your weight isn't really that much under the ideal weight. If you are healthy with plenty of energy, then I wouldn't worry about it. However, you might want to add some strength training exercises to keep your bones and muscles strong. By increasing your muscle mass, you will look better and add a few pounds to your frame. Good luck.

BMI is a bunch of bunk. It doesn't measure true fat percentage. If you are worried about your weight. Go get a physical. Here they will be able to evaluate whether or not you should worry (medical reasons to cause you to be thin). Personally, you don't sound like you have anything to worry about.
