I am 5"4 and 157 pounds. i lost 5 pounds last year by swimming, on treadmill, etc. but I cant seem lose more weight, I wanted to be around 130 to 145 pounds (I have asthma) that mean I cant run too far. It seem weird: when i eat lot of food, my weight go up 2 pounds. If I drink lot of water than food, my weight stay same. (by the way, I'm on birth control pills, but I can't throw the pills away) Any suggestions? Thanks!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

There are many ways of losing weight. Whats best for one may not be best for another depending on lifestyle. I use something that is what I call my fast food. Its a protein powderded shake mix that you mix with milk , soymilk, or juice. Its good for those on the go and having little time to cook. You drink a shake for 2 meals and eat a nutritionallly balanced meal, plus take some herbal tablets and vitamins and minerals. Plus you have a few snacks. Its all natural and healthy. Its herbalife shapeworks Ive been using it for years for health issues and for weight loss. All natural products made from things your body needs. Nothing dangerous. I lost 95 pounds on it 7 years ago. It heals the body from the inside out when done right. Its a personal program that can be adjusted to fit your health and weight loss needs. I know people that have gone off medications for certain ailments and use hebalife products for health maintenance even. I have asthma and allergies too. Schizandra is a good herb for that by the way, so is nettle.Even if you only want to lost a few pounds, its great. I had lots of energy and was never hungry while using it for weight loss. You can find them in the phone book or online@ Herbalife .com.Good luck

Plan meals with lots of fruits, vegetables, lean meats/fish and whole wheat pastas and breads. As snacks, have vegetables, whole wheat crackers, lowfat dairy, vegetables. Avoid lots of dressings or sauces. Don't drink a lot of sodas, or juices with extra sugar added (check labels), yes, drink lots water and eat meals at a regular time.
There's lots of excercies that won't tend to aggrevate your asthma...especially plyometrics rather than aerobics. Try lunges, situps, pushups, steps, free weights and brisk walking. Treadmill and swimming are excellent keep it up. Don't worry too much about weight, but rather your physical fitness level and muscle toning. Yes, i've heard birth control affecting weight levels, so don't sweat it. Good weight loss may not be immediate, or people tend to gain it right back (by losing water weight and even muscle mass instead of fat)

You could have something called insulin resistance. It does not have to mean you are diabetic, but it is a symptom of diabetes. Your body does not process food the way it should, and I don't know really what else to say about it, I have not studied it, only been told by my doctor. He has me on a pill called glucophage. You may benefit from this drug. I used it before I was even diagnosed with Diabetes. It works against insulin resistance.
