When Dodge was planning on entering NASCAR, Ray Evernham had just left Hendricks to become a Team Owner. Dodge petitioned him to use their new car and so Ray Evernham helped Dodge and in return they sponsored his then two car team which consisted of the #9 and #19. The two have been unseperatable ever since.

Theres more than that, theres also the #2, 12, 10, 49 and others, 9 and 19 are just two of the Dodge Drivers in NASCAR

Dodge Dealers decided that they wanted to sponsor two cars, compared to one. Any sponsor could do this. You could have two Lowe's cars, Two Pepsi cars, it is just that Dodge is the only one who is doing this right now.

i am not sure i understand your question totally. Kasey Kahne drives the 9 and elliott sadler drives the 19, they are two different cars so two different drivers

Because only two cars are dodge!! Just like they have Toyota cars this year. Some are Ford and some are Chevy. They are trying different types of cars. It just happens that only two people or teams like the Dodge cars. After this year I can only hope that they hang it up for the Toyota's...
