The level is erratic, but if you are not in a recognized group the persecution can be intense,. Catholics faithful to communion with the Pope,Fulan Gong,House Church Evangelical Protestants, Dalai Lama following Tibetan Buddhists, vocal Muslim groups are just some of the groups experiencing persecution. Look up Forum 18 and Voice of the Martyrs and Cardinal Kung Society.

I belong to a watchgroup for the persecution in China and other Countries, including the United States.
The level of persecution in China is reaching an all-time high. People are secretly reading the Bible, but if they are found out, even by word of mouth, they are shipped off to prison. Prison in China is not like here in the U.S., where prisioners yell about their rights. In China, you are lucky to be fed in prison. And I mean really, really lucky.
Each time a Christian is taken away, I receive an alert message on my Computer.
I've received several before 10am this morning. Todays total will exceed 80, and I'm being conservative.
We have two in the United States, and more to come. There is a bill called HR1592 that is already law at the State level, and caused the arrest of two women, one 75 and one 76 years of age, in Philadelphia, PA. The two women were arrested for a hate crime. This hate crime they were arrested for is the same crime that a person would be charged with, if they had dragged a person into a field and beat them unmercifully and left them for dead.
So what awful thing was it that these two old women did? The same thing they have done every Sunday afternoon in front of their church: they handed out Bibles. One of the women said "Have a God-blessed day", and then they were arrested. They were changed into prison garb and thrown into general population at the County Prison. They await 47 years in prison, each, which is the rest of their lives.
This is why: according to this bill, which they are trying to pass at the federal level to become Federal law, if you hand out a Bible that states God is against gays, then you must agree with it. If you agree with it, then you are thinking "hatefully". If you are thinking of "hate" then its the same as any other "hate crime". This bill was formed by the homosexual lobbyists, and it gives elevated status to homosexuals and crossdressers. It says that if you beat up an old woman, you get 33% LESS JAIL TIME than if you hand out literature to a gay guy. Unbelievable, but true. Elevated status under the law. Some Senators said that if this extra protection is needed for gays (Who have had 19 hate crimes committed against them which includes someone just verbalizing) then what about those other citizens who are unable to protect themselves? Lets give that elevated status to disabled/handicapped, to the police officers, to the military personnel,
to the mentally retarded, and to the elderly.
The homosexual lobby answer: NO, THIS BILL IS ONLY FOR HOMOSEXUALS.
No other group is to get elevated status, just gays. Even though there are ample laws in place and each time you assault a human being, you are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There is already protection under the law for all of us. No special law is required - this is just bs from gay people who are looking for special rights and special protections.
Anyway, these two women are certainly
on my list of persecuted. If that law passes making HR1592 Federal law, then Priests and Pastors will be arrested after giving sermons, anybody found passing Bibles out or Bible literature will be arrested. Those parents who do not teach what a fine and dandy thing it is to be gay, will be arrested for teaching their children hate.
Bible Scholars and Teachers across the United States are already handing over legal custody of their children to third parties, because they know they will be arrested if that law passes. I know, I am one of them; we want to protect our children from being thrown into foster homes or care centers.
Reliable sources? They indicate that things are going exactly as its prophecied in Scripture. The levels of persecution in the United States will be rising dramatically if that law passes, of course, but you can expect things to get far worse than they are now. China is second on my persecution list, North Korea still holds number 1 position. Even one person persecuted is far too many, of course. I get anywhere from 110 - 360 alerts of arrests DAILY, from all over the World; these are only persecutions where the crime was purely
religious in nature, and only those that are actually arrested. Those killed rather than arrested aren't even in my file. Those range somewhere in the hundreds per day.

They get killed off whenever they are discovered
They must meet in secret and in small groups if they try to covert their neighbors they could be discovered and killed.
Why? Simple.
Communism
Under communism people have no rights and no property
but Christians believe that their rights as humans come from God not the government. The Chinese government does not like that idea so they kill Christians whenever they find them.

They actually showed a non licensed church being plowed under last year on TV. The ones that usually get arrested are the church leaders.

why do you ask?
are you looking for some badge of persecution to wear?
if i recall correctly chinese christians were disliked because they (and missionaries) were trying to undrmine the national religion.
if you didnt know this....its pretty obvious...see..some peopel dont like it when a bunch of pretentious a$ses go around touting their beleifs as absolute fact. sometimes people LIKE the religion their country might have...and they might see it as an insult that you or people like you might come around looking to overwrite it....simply because it makes you feel good.
so heres some food for though....why ARE there christians in china?
