John 3:3 Jesus speaking of Being Born again.
How To Receive Eternal Life {become
a Born-Again Christian) so that one will not be Eternally separated from God:
Romans 1:20-21: "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened." We must acknowledge God as the Creator of everything and accept our humble position in God's creation.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory[perfection] of God.” We must all realize that we are sinners and that we need forgiveness. We are not worthy of God’s grace.
Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us.” Through Jesus, God gave us a way to be saved from our sins. God showed us His love by giving us the potential for life through the death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” If we remain sinners, we will die spiritually – eternally separated from God. However, if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and repent of our sins, we will have eternal life.
Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Just confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved!
Romans 10:13 “For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” There are no religious formulas or rituals -- Call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved!
Romans 11:36: "For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen." Determine in your heart to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life today.
Roman Road: Are You Ready to Accept God’s Free Gift of Salvation?
If you truly believe the message of the Roman Road, and want to accept God’s gift of salvation right now, it's a matter of repenting of your sins and turning the rest of your life over to Jesus Christ. Again, this is not a ritual based on any specific words or prayers, but rather, a willful decision and a sincere step of faith.
“Father, I know that I have broken your commandments willfully and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to "turn away from my past sinful life to You." Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning with Your help God. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart and mind from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will {knowing that Your will for my life is written in the Word of God/the bible) for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.”
If you, or anyone else reading this have made this prayerful commitment for the first time to accept and receive Jesus Christ as Lord then you are now {according to God's Word/Bible)"BornAgain" {Jn. 3) into The Body of Christ the family of God.
This is what I strongly believe by Faith, that The Word of God teaches on "How To" be Born Again - to receive eternal life.
P.S. - for those already Born Again followers of Jesus and The Word of God as Lord: Encourage you to read
1 John 1:7-9 in the version of the bible which you use. I use the New King James bible, along with the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Heb/Greek provided for FREE through E-Sword:
http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html
AND also daily use the New American Standard Bible and the Amplified Bible.
Bible versions are a personal preference,
God will use by The Holy Spirit any version of the bible {with the exception of The New World Translation of the Bible) to speak to a person, to lead and guide them by His Spirit into all Truth.
Thanks for your excellent question.

Born from above into the family tree of Jesus, the Son of God. All descendants of Adam who don't lay hold upon the gift of grace through faith will enter into only Adam's heritage of death for sin.
The KJV has its problems, though. Tyndale wouldn't play ball with Henry VIII so he was murdered and the KJV "translators" plagiarized his work to a great degree. But they didn't change things to get closer to the meaning of the original language. What they did was change a word here and there to make it more colorful, erudite or less repetitive.
Tyndale's work was a whole lot more faithful to the original language and he also used the Textus Receptus unlike the other "modern language" translations we have today that are based on the corrupted Alexandrian manuscripts.

Actually, the KJV was translated from the Latin Vulgate. The NASB is translated directly from the Greek/Hebrew text making it the most closely translated version from the original manuscripts.
However, your interpretation of the passage in question is 100% correct. Praise the Lord!
Only a repentant sinner can inherit the Kingdom of God. A homosexual who is unrepentant cannot. The Bible is very clear about this.

A lot of religion and spiritual beliefs depends on the person. You need to find what is comfortable for you. Read some other versions of the Bible see what they, personally i read from the Revised Standard Version. It's much like the KJV but it's in "Americanized English" -so basically it takes out the the "thou's" and "herewith's" and "verily, verily's". However, this is what works for me. In religion it's best not to have many doubts. No one can be certain what is "the truth", that's why it's called faith. Faith is belief sight unseen. If that, indeed, is your belief in being "Born-again", then that's fine. Be true to you.

My interpretation is that God loves everyone...my friends are born again and I know they shun me for believing this but, I truly don't believe that God is going to send an infant to Hell because they are not baptized or because they have no accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I also don't believe that God would send a gay person to Hell. I know many gay people and they are all the nicest people I know...many straight people could take a lesson on acceptance and love from them...I just don't see how God could send someone like that to Hell. I do, however believe in abstinence until marriage...that's not because of my interpretation, really it's more because there are so many STD's out there now a days that it just seems to be the best option. OR how could God send someone who is mentally handicapped to Hell simply because they are not of the right brain capacity to accept Jesus into their lives? I do believe that it is right to repent from sin, because it brings you closer to the Lord, but like I said it is all about love, I think. I also don't think that God likes it when parents use Him as a scare tactic with their children. My parents never did that, so maybe that's why I have this view of The Heavenly Father.

In my opinion that deos mean believeing Jesus as your lord and savior.
I do beg to differ about KJV being the most reliable. Many things can be mis-read using the KJV but if you study it hard enough and use many study tools it is a good Version.

Baptism pre-existed Jesus and John employing it. It became used for people who have been changing to Judaism, as a marker to themselves and to others of their conversion. it relatively is why John and Jesus used baptism - as a marker for human beings turning returned to God. It does no longer propose that it makes the crucifixion pointless. seem at Matthew 3:11; Mark a million:8; Luke 3:sixteen; John a million:26 and so on. Baptism with water became a fashion of having waiting human beings for the forgiveness that should contain the crucifixion. Baptism with water became an emblem of forgiveness, yet did no longer easily make every person forgiven by ability of itself. It became pointing in the direction of while Jesus might 'baptise with the Holy Spirit and with hearth', ie a lots deeper, greater genuine style of baptism, which might easily replace human beings. human beings earlier the crucifixion must be forgiven, yet basically as a results of fact of what might take place on the crucifixion, which might prepare consistently.

This verse is referring to baptism as He clarifies in 3:5.
3:5. Jesus answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
The KJV translation is widely disputed by scholars, its value lies in its poetic language at the cost of accuracy in translation. (Wiki). The NIV and the NAB are currently the best translations.

Anybody can be born again in any aspect of life. For me i realized that believing in god is not the same as knowing god. So i gave all beliefs back and my quest for knowledge began. In doing this i've truly found god within myself. Ps. 82-6/ JOhn10:34.

Scripture tells us that we find truth by adding text upon text. Concerning being born again, here is a text that I believe adds further understanding...
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new"
2 Corinthians 5:17

3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
I believe one must be baptized to be fully born again as Jesus stated in verse 5 to be able to see the kingdom of heaven.
