People like you are so ignorant you make me want to scream.

Did you or did you not see the latest stats? Teen pregnancy is WAY down.

Teens do not get pregnant just to piss hateful people like you off. There are complicated issues, aside from "just a need to screw" going on.

I WORK and I do mean WORK with teens. They are termed AT RISK but probably just garbage to you. They have real lives and need real help. They need values and parenting and love and concern. All the things that YES should have bene given to them at home, but weren't.

It would be a start to give girls programs on self esteem. Many of them really don't want to have sex, but in at risk areas this is much more of a rite of passage than in say suburbia. Misery loves company. The girls who are "out there" don't like to see those who aren't.

The girls also feel pressure to keep a boyfriend, in many cases several years older than they are...did you see that study as well as few years back? I was so glad the GOVERNMENT finally realized that young girls were not mostly getting pregnant by the 15-17 set.

The girls are lacking fathers and need to feel male closeness.
Self esteem (and I prefer faith based) would give them the foundation they need instead of seeking it in male company.

Also they would have the courage to stand up to the bully girls and guys whispering stuff to them.

For the guys, they could have sensitiving training classes and such. I also would prefer faith based training for them as well.

AGAIN, YES this should be taught in the home, but the at risk girls I am talking about have missing parents (in jail, on drugs, mentally ill, etc) and don't have people to really teach them anything.

Believe me, these classes would cost almost zero compared to the welfare and teen court stuff local, state, and federal governments pay for...

In the communities where we have helped social workers and ministries implement good training there has been much success.

And in the at risk areas around the country STATUTORY laws need to be enforced. There would be a lot less pregnant teen girls if the 18 and above set would leave them alone.

If you REALLY want to be a part of the SOLUTION, you might "lobby" your legislature for such a thing.

But mostly you will get hateful answers, no solutions, and BS.

Unwanted teen pregnancy is an education issue and a morality issue. We must give our children an educated base to start from. They need to understand how pregnancy occurs and how it can be prevented. They need to understand the consequences of becoming pregnant. We need to instill in our young ladies that it's OK to remain a virgin past the fifth grade! They need to be taught that sex can be an expression of love or just the animalistic hormone driven act of lust, and be taught to look for the differences before they get knocked up, and so far, my entire rant hasn't expended any "Welfare Dollars". What does cost our welfare system is the fact that our health care system is not affordable to entry level laborers to obtain obstetric and family planning care. FIX HEALTH CARE, DON'T INCREASE WELFARE. What costs our Welfare System is that it encourages women to stay pregnant or with very young children at home so they can continue not working and getting that Govment Chek. REMOVE INCENTIVES THAT KEEP UNWED MOTHERS GETTING PREGNANT. I am all in favor of giving someone a hand up once in a while, but the life-long handouts have got to stop.

First off, Pregnancy is the correct spelling, secondly with all of the sex education offered these days if you don't pay attention and use birth control or just abstain, why should a hard working tax payer foot the bill for your mistake. If you want to keep the baby, go get a job and support it, stay off the welfare rolls.

The welfare program shouldn't exist at all. Unwanted teen pregnancy can be reduced by parents actually raising their children to be responsible and keep their pants on. If their teen does get pregnant, the teen's parents should pay to raise the child or to abort it.

Simple, No glove no love! Maybe you should explore abstinence. I am tired of working 14 hrs a day so careless individuals can stand in line for my tax dollars to pay for their sins of the flesh! Open a Bible and try to imagine what the Fires of HELL will feel like. Then try with all of your might to imagine sex as a wonderful, loving act that should only occur between a man and his wife, behind closed doors.

Unwanted pregnacy is not the responsibilty of the govt, its people, or any other institution...It rest solely on the shoulders of the couple who engaged in the act of unprotected sex or what have you. I believe personal not public financial responsibility is called for in these situations...

Welfare was not designed for teen pregnancy, or all the other garbage attached to it, that's why there is not enough money. We have too many people wanting a hand out and the stupid government is giving to them at the taxpayers expense.

There is a little thing called "cause and consequence". If you want to have unprotected sex, then be ready for an unwanted baby. Remember, every freedom comes with a price.

Why should all other hard-working tax-payers pay for your un-thoughtful action?

Before you ask "what others can do for you", please ask yourself "what have you done for others".

Maybe if parents would teach their children about not having sex or at least using birth control there wouldn't be so many.

Children having children is huge problem.
