If you had Office 2000 installed on another computer, I don't think you will be able to install it on a new one.

Most new software like Vista is "backward mobile" - which means it will work with an older program. The problem I see is that if it was previous installed on another computer, the installation ID will not match.

When you install and activate software, Microsoft takes the product key of the software, mixes it with information about the computer on which you are installing, and comes up with a number comprised of both to create an "installation ID." So you see, if you install and try to activate, you will be told you have exceeded the number of times to install.

I'm still using Office 2000.
This is the best price I have found so far. I don't think MS supports Office 2000 anymore. You might want to think about getting Office 2003 at least.

Yes, you should be able to if it is a legitimate version. Also you may want to install the Office Compatibility Pack when you get Vista. It allows older versions of Office to works with the new Office 2007 product line.
