I need a new electrical cord for my Rowenta Iron. There was a sizzle, spark at the end of the cord near the plug. The fuse was not harmed.

Just replace the plug....

You can get a replacement plug at WalMart

Do it yourself. Go down to homdepot buy some black electrical tape.(75 cents) Cut the cord inch or two above and below where it sparked. Remove the coating on the wires about 1 inch. Twist the wires together then use as much tape as to increase the old coating by about three(wrap the tape tight as you can). After you twisted each of them and added tape. Again put tape over all the wires to make it look little nicer and add little protection.

All you have to worry about is to attach the same wires and they should be colored coated. And to use the tape to where they can't touch each other. You can remove the coating with a knife or you can buy a tool to do it at homedepot. Or heck the old timers around here use there teeth :)

This happened to me once. I thought it'd be easier to just replace the cord, but it turned out to be cheaper to just get a new iron.... a lot less work too!
