its not enough. body needs 50cal/hour just for basic functioning (like when you are in coma) and thats 1200cal/day.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

That doesn't sound like enough to keep you going. Try eating 6 small meals a day with the equivelent of between 1200-1550 cals if you can't just try and maintain 500 cals per meal on a 3 meals a day plan. Keep fat and carbs to the lower side and getting protein up a little. Pay attention to serving sizes. It feels like I eat all day long but my choices are good and I lost 50 pounds in a 6 month time period between March and August of last year. Just to let you know I am still at that goal and it feels like I have become one of those people that I was envious of two years ago (the person who can eat what ever they want and not gain anything, thanks to that boost in my metabolism).
But make sure you also exercise.
