Did you have to include your BAH in your financial statement? I did and I pay 800.00 per month. Someone told me BAH should not have been counted. Is this true?

If you are legally divorced then no BAH should not have been included, same if you are legally separated. However, if you and your wife are just separated then go to JAG. They have a break down as to how much you have to pay to support your dependents.

BAH should not be included, only taxable income, But since you are paying child support you should also qualify for BAH dif check with your finance office. As long as you are not dual military you do get it. Also check with your state laws because if I am not mistaken it is taxable income, plus your bah fluctuates with your duty assignments so you may not always be able to pay your $800.00. Also that cant count your BAS and deployment money because that is not permanent.

It is non-taxable income, but it is income nonetheless.

Alaska requires the BAH to be claimed. We live on post. Our housing has been privatized. So, the BAH is posted as income, then it is deducted in whole as an allotment on the same LES. Alaska counted the income, and my husband's support just went up as a result.

Check the state in which you are stationed. Every state's support laws are different.

It depends on if your getting full or for your self bah. If for yourself then no that is to insure you have a place and food. I went through this and was in a California court the judge did not grant her the entitlement from my bah. and yes I had my oldest son that is not hers living with me.

BAH IS COUNTED. CAUSE YOU ARE PAID THAT TO SUPPORT A HOME LIFE FOR YOUR FAMILY. AND THAT MAY INCLUDE YOUR FAMILY WITH YOU AND YOUR CHILD NOT WITH YOU. YOUR BAH IS GIVEN TO YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE DEPENDENTS. SO ITS MEANT TO SUPPORT THEM...
