Who is the Thumbs-Down Troll and what motivates him/her?

I doubt that there is just one. But not everyone who uses the thumbs down feature does so in troll-like fashion. Sometimes they use it the way it was intended: to say "this is a bad answer." Not necessarily "this is an answer with which I do not agree," although sometimes it is that, as well. What we are talking about are the bad answers which do not actually violate community guidelines, but are inaccurate as to matters of fact, or are poorly stated, perhaps non-responsive to the question, and often rude. Also, I would include ones that provide links to nasty stuff, although they may qualify as violations, depending on how nasty.

I give a thumbs down to any answer i see in all caps. It anoys me alot!

Sometimes people give thumbs down to an answer because it wasn' t the answer they were hoping for, even if it is factually correct. Makes me wonder why they ask the question if they've already made up their minds.

thumbs down are fair, i dislike the reporter trolls. some things are right or wrong and in politics deserve a thumbs down. i've seen some uncalled for thumbs but what are you gonna do.

I was wondering that same thing today. I wish people would use this site for what it was intended for. I guess there are a lot of negative and mean people out there. I still believe most people are good and helpful though.
