I guess I kinda fit that category a bit. I am an atheist. But I also don't think that evolution alone is responsible for our developement into what we now are. I have my suspicions that aliens were experimenting on our ancestors and perhaps added some of their own DNA into our gene pool. But it's just a theory. Some think they may still be. It's interesting trying to figure out the nature of things and our origins.

Hello.
I reject evolution because it would answer for some peoples ignorance of faith, and instead argue that poeple who take up evolution are looking for a way out.
I reject gods because they do not exits, not in the way that the many understand.

My father-in-law is one of the country's leading experts in the study of evolution. He is a man of science, to the core, and also a Christian. He accepts, rather than rejects, both beliefs. He does not believe that the two principles are mutually exclusive of one another.
I know that is not what you asked, but just wanted to put in my two cents.

I fail to see the good in believing in any gods, and I do not put much stock in evolution, though if I had to choose between the two, evolution, at least can be scientifically proven in time.

Actually, I embrace both...I believe in God...I also believe in the possibility of evolution...
Maybe God created the apes from which we evolved...
Maybe God created the two rocks that banged together...
Our finite mind does not understand anything without a beginning and end...so, God is the only answer...we, by faith believe that he is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end.....
If not, where did the rock come from? Where did the monkey come from?

Why reject evolution - it is a face - do you reject that in 1776 and 1812 the USA fought a war against Britain? Do you reject the existence of atoms. Well there is as much evidence for evolution as they.

I believe both, but not definitively. But then I don't believe in a god that has anything to do with the creation of the universe.

The only real reason to reject evolution is that it contradicts your religious texts. There are no alternate scientific theories.

I use to be crazy religous but as i was growing up i met a girl who had such a screwed up life, molestation, violence you name it, that made me question religion. I realize the sad truth is as complex as the world is when you study things in it, they all point to our existence as basiclly being a sophisticated chain reaction.
