last winter I had pretty bad acne. I went on a new regimen in January and recently it's cleared up a LOT. However, I came home from college last week and within the past few days my skin has gotten a little bumpy and I don't know why. I'm drinking a lot of water, washing it 2x a day and still using my medications. The only main differences are that I'm not as active (I walked an average of 2-3 miles a day during school, with classes and everything) and I've been eating a little bit more. I also haven't been outside much. I'm getting my period in a few days but I don't normally break out from that.

I'm using the same face wash (cetaphil) and creams (duac and tazorac) I've been using the whole time.

You may be doing TOO much. Acne can be caused by skin irritation, so it might be irritated by you washing it so much. Also are you eating fruits and vegetables? Because I know when I don't, my skin gets worse. Also, your skin can just adjust to the medication and it may need something else. If all else fails, check with your dermatologist.

Your Face- Start by daily, in the morning using a deep cleansing face wash. This cleanses deeply in the pores removing dirt and oil that can lead further to spots. When looking for a facial wash make sure it contain SALCYLIC ACID this is known for its anti-bactirial proporties and the effect that it has on spots. When washing face steam the face with hot water to open pores, cleanse then splash the face with cold water to close pores. Use a toner to close the pores and even out the skins natural tone, as you suffer from acne, i would reccomend you finding one that doesnt contain alcahol. Then apply a moisteriser, again when shopping for a moiteriser make sure it contains Salcylic Acid. I would reccomend the Garnier Pure A range for all i have mentioned, especially the moisteriser. This helps clear spots with it being enhansed with Zinc. Use this twice daily, morning and evening and it ACTUALLY DOES WORK, it helps clear spots, clear visable pores and smoothen skin.

By scrubbing so hard the way you claim to have done is not helping your skin at all. Remember stam with hot water to open pores, splash with cold to close. Use the scrub once a week as it is very harsh on skin and daily use can make tear-drop scars on skin which can easily fill up with grease/oil/bacteria and lead to spots. Use a scrub once a week to remove dead skin cells. Use a facial mask once a week to balance out the skin tone. Exfoilate every two days (sugar makes a great exfoliant).

A great spot gel is Avon Clearskin, immidiante responce blemish treatment, it works trust me.

Good Luck i hope the information i have given you is of some help, i had spots for ages, following my daily skin regeme above has given me extreamly clear skin which i am proud to look at. spots/acne doesnt last forever, everyone gets it at some points, it goes sooner than you think, but by following a reliable skin regeme can help the effects even more. xox

i think that im kind of with the other girl. you might be usuing too much. if you have perscribed medication, i suggest you dont use anything else because your skin could react to it (the medication) and make the worse. being active can have something to do with it too. im not saying you have to work out everyday, but staying active does benefit you. drinking water is good, but maybe since youre eating more, you should watch WHAT you eat. you can still eat a lot i suppose but try to keep it healthier with non-oily foods such as fruits and veggies, nuts, etc. also, when you use foundations and stuff, get oil-free versions because any kind of makeup with oil on it can contribute to acne.

good luck =]

it could be stress or if you are touching your face more. walking has abolutely nothing to do with your acne.
