My name is Trinity through no fault of my own. I am what is termed an Agnostic Atheist.
I neither affirm nor deny the immortality of man. I see no reason for believing it, but, on the other hand, I have no means of disproving it.
So there you have it. I look forward to getting to know all of you.
Feel free to take a peek at my profile as it has a bit more included.

I am always available for semi private conversations through IM services. I say semi private because I sincerely believe that all IMs are recorded in a log somewhere.

"If a man has failed to find any good reason for believing that there is a God, it is perfectly natural and rational that he should not believe that there is a God; and if so, he is an atheist... if he goes farther, and, after an investigation into the nature and reach of human knowledge, ending in the conclusion that the existence of God is incapable of proof, cease to believe in it on the ground that he cannot know it to be true, he is an agnostic and also an atheist - an agnostic-atheist - an atheist because an agnostic... while, then, it is erroneous to identify agnosticism and atheism, it is equally erroneous so to separate them as if the one were exclusive of the other..."

Hi Trinity. I am an Agnostic with Metaphyical leanings. I have been involved with several different religions in the past, and am currently a member of the Church of Christ, with my wife, tho neither of us is a real deep believer in their doctrines. We do read and study the Bible some, but I do not think either of us accepts it as God's holy, infallible word. I have found too many contradictions in it for that. I do tend to believe in the supernatural and a "spirit world", and I have seen a spirit cat. My wife too has had some psychic experiences. We once tried to start a Metaphysical (New Age) church, but, living in the deep South, failed. So... I am kind of an in-betweener - in between the Atheists and the deeply religious. I think I have been strongly atheistic in the past, but it was a long time back. Pleased to meet you, btw.

Trinity, an "agnostic atheist" is a contradiction of meanings. Either you don't know if a so-called Supreme Being exists or you don't believe at all with no in-betweens. Identifying yourself as an agnostic atheist sounds oh-so-cool and will impress the sophomoric minds, but not us.

And being that you have no reason to believe nor disapproving puts you into the agnostic camp.

You sound like a nice person.

Just a piece of advice: You had better have a thick skin, because there are a lot of nasty fights, ugly name calling and personal attacks from many people in the Religion and Spirituality. No group here is innocent of this childishness.

Just don't take it personally. (I don't participate in anything but polite discussion)

I've been on this board for a while and haven't noticed that anyone has found the need of introducing themselves, except for you. I actually prefer meeting people in a less formal setting and will pass on your invitation to "peek" at your profile.

Welcome aboard, although I must warn you that you are already violating a couple of the Y!A guidelines, namely "chatting" and "not-a-question". Be careful. There are some participants that will go technical on you if they don't like your questions. You might want to review the guidelines.

Aside from that, have fun! I look forward to seeing your contributions.

Get ready to get beat up this is a rough place not for the faint of heart but by the same token you get to without holding back express your honest opinion. This is for people who want to give an honest estimate of how they feel about things.
