There are many ways that God speaks to us! It is not possible for me to enlist all. I will just list the few that I remember, but I won't explain them.
1. God speaks with an audible (loud) voice ~ as he did in the mount of transfiguration with Peter, James and John as witnesses.
2. He speaks with a still small voice ~ as he did with Elijah, as he was running away from Jezebel.
3. God speaks through animals ~ as he did to the prophet Balak, through a donkey.
4. God speaks through visions ~ as he did with Peter, as he was praying in the upper roof, seeing something like a sheet with four footed animals, some of which it was not lawful to eat.
5. God speaks through dreams ~ as he did to Joseph and many others in the Bible.
6. God speaks through prophets ~ as he did countless times in the Bible.
7. God speaks by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit!
8. God speaks through miracles, signs and wonders ~ as he did in the ministry of Jesus Christ, to which the Lord Jesus even said, "Even if you don't believe my words, believe for the sake of the works that I do. For the works that I do bear witness. The works that I do, I do not do them on my own; but he who sent me does the works."
9. God speaks through events and also ordinary people ~ there are many examples of that in the Bible.
10. God, above all these, speaks through the written word ~ the HOLY BIBLE!! ..........there is no surer way, you can be sure he has spoken. All the other ways must be tested with the word of God written, the BIBLE.
There are many other ways through which God speaks.......I've left others for others!
God bless you for your good question, Asker!

Let me give you six ways he speaks to us. Literally, when he actually spoke to Adam and Moses. By example in his actions and deeds. Allegorically in proverbs and parables. Prophetically in Daniel, Isaiah and through Christ and John. Historically in the account of the Hebrews in Egypt and the Romans in Israel. Logically, as when Paul spoke in the book of Romans.

He speaks to us in dreams and through his "holy word" (the Bible). Sometimes circumstance (things that happen) are ways he speaks to us. Occasionally, tho rarely, he even speaks to us in an audible voice, if our psychic centers are open, like the seers and prophets of old.
