I am a Christian, and have never really believed in reincarnation, or thought much about it. I realize that most Christians believe that there is no reincarnation within Christianity, but can't God do anything he wants? Including re-using souls?
The reason I ask is because of my 3 yr old daughter. She has been telling me lately of how she used to be a mom in the old west. (Her words, "Once, I was a Mama like you. I lived in the olden west days, with the cowboys. I had three babies, but one of them died, and I was so sad. I still had two babies, but I was never happy again. I wore long dresses, and I had to work hard all the time. Then, I got really old, then I died. That's how I got to be your daughter!) I know, it sounds like I'm making it up, but I swear I'm not. I realize it could just be the imagination of a child, but she keeps repeating the same story, sometimes with more details. SO, is reincarnation real? If so, what should I do for/about/with my little girl?

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

I am sure you are convinced your three-year-old baby could not have seen or heard about what she is telling you except if she saw it happen. That, in fact is why you are concerned about reincarnation.
Let me assure you that your baby is not making things up. There have been recorded cases of more vivid descriptions by a child of events that happened long before the child was born. Please listen to your daughter more, and encourage her to talk about them whenever she feels like. You may learn one or two things from her.
Reincarnation is accepted in most cultures of the world; did Jesus not say John the Baptist was Elijah reincarnated? Reincarnation explains a lot of things that the one-life-then-judgment theory cannot. A lot of Christians are closet reincarnationists, if that will console you.

I certainly do believe in reincarnation...I think that we, as souls, all have life lessons to learn and until we learn these lessons, we will continue to reincarnate until we ultimately are joined with the Divine...God....Higher Power..however you wish to term the Omnipotent being most commonly referred to as God.
Children are much more aware of past life details, then adults. Kinda like the older we get, the more we forget....
So to answer your questions, yes reincarnation exists, as for what you can do for your daughter, calmly validate her experience without dismissing it in a shameful way.
And Yes....God is Everything or God Is Nothing....
Perhaps you can take some time to look inside yourself and wonder what your life lesson is in this lifetime..... could it be acceptance, tolerance..humility? Just a thought...
Blessings to you and i hope you find what you are looking for..

I know the bible say, "Man is appointed once to die, after that comes judgment"
But wow, how freaky. 3 is very young to making this up.
I just don't know.
My daughter talks about seeing God before she was born. Not reincarnation but being in heaven with God and the angels! She also said she was with God looking for a nice mommy! She has autism and doesn't lie.

I am "what I like to be referred as" a Jesus freak and find this topic coming up a lot these days. God will show you what is right, you just need to believe when he gives the answers. Be patent, Satan isn't so you will prevail. Yes I also believe God is capable of all things, maybe there is something that soul has to get right with him, I don't know. I am sure that we will know, some day!

Aw how cute, I think your daughter is a crystal or an indigo child, that;s why she remembers her past live! The best think is that SHE decided to be YOUR daughter! Reincarnation really exists, I have memories from a past live too!

According to studies, including Buddhist philosophy, her memories will die off as she grows older and learns the ways of this life. Just let her be herself, it's not a huge issue. There are many cases that pretty much support all of the philosophy about rebirth which I've studied within Buddhism.
If she needs to talk, let her talk, let her tell you what she wants and she'll work through it and likely out of it.

Incarnation is not real. That would be giving a second chance after death, and the Bible says when you die, you will be judged. So it can't be real. No one is going to like my answer, but it could be that she has a demon in her, possession some may call it. She could have been told to say that. It sounds like a 6 year old talking like that, it doesn't sound like a three year old. I have no idea what it could be. Pray to God about it. Tell her she was never an old woman and if she really was she would persist, but if you let her believe it of course she is going to keep going on about it. Pray and stand firm in your faith. God bless.

Re-incarnation is based on the idea that the soul is immortal.
The soul is not immortal. It dies. Ezekial 18:4.
You daughter's stories indicate a creative mind, or a teasing spirit, or demonism.
I sincerely hope its one of the first 2.
