This is a cop-out answer! Do you theists/Christians really need to protect your little God by putting the blame on free will and/or Satan?

It is an opinion, not truth - They can't stand for an ounce of blame to go to their God. Why? Can't he handle it? Why must he be protected? It's even sillier to say the blame foes to Statan when God apparently created him and gave him his purpose.

Why do you think men do bad things?
Because they are rebellious against God, authority, and what is right.
And since they were created by Jehovah God as perfect God approved people that were good, something or someone had to change them.
They disobeyed. And all their offspring disobey as well.
It was a fallen angel wanting praise for himself....he turned himself into satan the devil. He is misleading the entire inhabited world.

People do bad things because they give into their temptations. We all have certain temptations, things that we like to do that are wrong and we all have different sins that we struggle with. But some people are better at fighting these temptations than others. And quite honestly some people have tougher temptations to overcome so it's harder for them. The question then becomes where does the temptation come from. Well I think environment and life experiences play a big role in what sins that each person struggles with. Satan then uses our propensity do that sin and tempts us to do those things over and over again. All in all though you have a choice to give into the temptation or not. I am not sure how you would put the blame on God or how we're protecting God. The answer is what it is, we are tempted by the devil to give into our individual desires that were created by the life and situations that we have lived through and then we exercise free will to commit the sin or not.
In the end it's not God's or Satan's fault, it is our own fault.

It's a total cop-out.

I wonder what they think of "free will" when rapists and murderers attack "good, decent Christians"?

Surely God would want to protect his most devout believers from the horrors that others commit out of the "free will" he gave them?

Because for the most part it is free will. I do not mean this in a religious context. But we are all responsible for the decisions we make in this life.

If mankind doesn't have free will then, then our existence is pointless. God would just have made us robots and arbitrarily have condemned certain of us to Hell.
The point is that we choose to do evil or we choose to do good and we choose God of our own FREE WILL, not His will.
