(asked a while ago, but since the question didn't appear then and almost nobody saw it, and I got no real replies...)

Terrorists are just denying people a basic right (the right to live) because they believe their god wants them to do it.

What's so wrong about it? Christians have no problem denying other people the right to marry because they think their god wants them to do it.

At least the suicide bombers are willing to deny themselves the same right by taking their own lives. I don't see any christian gay marriage opponents willing to make the same sacrifice.

And why would you think terrorism is wrong anyway? Didn't the judeo christian god use a bioterrorism campaign, even killing innocent babies, to achieve his own political ends?

And please don't tell me not to judge god - you keep saying he's good - how can you tell without any judging?

Harridan5: so it's fine to hurt adults, just not children? Is that it?

Or are gay couples who want to get married guilty as opposed to innocent?

Most answers so fair indicate either misunderstanding the question, claim religious reasons (but hey, the terrorists have their own religious reasons) or basically say denying rights is fine when it the victims are other people.

I agree with your general base of thinking completely although your specific thought process seems to be a little warped.

EDIT: I agree with the point you are trying to make.

First of all, marriage is between a man and a woman (as described in the Bible) and is a vow before God to be together tlll death. If gays/lesbians want to be together then they can have a union through the courts rather then the church although I still wouldn't agree with it. Marriage is something too important to throw back at God's face.

Terrorism is wrong because anytime you forcefully take away someones life, you are ending a life that God deemed important enough to create. As far as God using "bioterroism" to get His people out of Egypt, it was a a result of Pharaoh refusing to release the Israelites who were ENSLAVED. The Egyptians believed in gods so God had to show them who the the one true God really was.

It's hard for me to answer this because I can not see anyone asking this question being serious. Terrorism is an act by a person causing pain and death to many innocent people to make a point or teach a society a lesson in hopes that they will bow down and obey them.

How is this not bad. i know that people did the same in the past in the name of religion but that didn't make it right either. I say read the bible yourself and I feel you will see why Terrorism is not a godly act no matter what god you pray to

Terrorism is a way to control people through fear...God(s) are simply used to motivate the soldiers that do the dirty work of the process. It is a very effective governmental/religious tactic...has been working well for ages.

Christians provoked some of the most heinous of terrorism upon the world...Native Americans, women, children, Aboriginese...you name a culture and they have put their 2 cents into trying to destroying it...all in the name of an unconditionally loving being...and without ever saying they were sorry (repenting) for any of it...Go figure!!! Sure wish folks would walk their talk or zip the lip.

First of all just because someone calls themselves a Christian does not mean they are. By the way Christians, Jews and Muslims share the same God and all share the same basic monotheistic theology. Basic Christian theology is against all kinds of killing. Some people have killed and tortured in the name of Christ, that does not make Christians, it only makes them bad people who want to use the name of Christ to justify themselves. Therefore, terrorism is wrong regardless of whose name it is being committed in. I am Catholic and believe ALL life is sacred and must be protected, even those of my enemies.

Perhaps you can explain why a pastor's family in San Fransisco was fire-bombed for speaking out against homosexuality? Who are the terrorists?

I recommend this video which tells the story.

Shaky Town

SAN FRANCISCO IS A SHAKY TOWN IN A SHAKY NATION
The Gunn Brothers take you to Shaky Town to show you a history of Christian persecution including fire bomb attacks, threats, legal assaults, and now, more recently, a mayor who attacks the Christian institution of marriage.

You'll hear testimonies from Christian Heroes involved in a front-line battle against immorality in the so-called “tolerant” city. You'll also see real video footage of Christian churches in San Francisco being attacked by violent groups of homosexuals. So be warned, this movie is not for the faint-hearted!

And your point is? Man, God sure MUST be good, for he's certainly allowing you to waste a lot of HIS oxygen!

We oppose 'gay marriage' (legalized fornication, actually) because it gives them the same status as heterosexuals, and cheapens the institution (which was INVENTED by God, in the garden) into a perverted version of the original, while setting a terrible example for our (and all) children to see. This is not mentioning the fact that the Lord (creator) destroyed Sodom for less, and most certainly can (and will) destroy America, or any other society that supports such heresy against the Holy Word of the Lord!

Leviticus 18:22

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. [one of many, many, more verses that can be cited]

No matter your belief- what if one of your loved ones was in those planes or the world trade center on 9/11 and was killed would you say terrorism is ok then? I don't think so. So you are comparing the sacrifice of suicide bombers to those of us who do not sacrifice anything but just say we do not believe in gay marriage? Where is the logic in that? And you people say Christians make no sense.

Moses said that God hates those who shed innocent blood.

How can an Islamic terrorist kill innocent people indiscriminately when one of his own prophets said that God hates people who do this? Does that make sense?

And how is killing someone the moral equivalent of simply denying them default inheritance rights (marriage) which can be remedied by other means (a will)? You seem rather deranged.

everything is so bad about terrorism. Killing anyone is horrible. Although what we, as americans, or a christian nation are doing is considered terrorism in the middle east. We consider them terrorists, they consider us terrorists. We are doing the same thing that we are killing them for doing.
